Phil,What about the sound-issue I explained before. That the certain "whine" stays on even if everything is turned off. Any explanations or updates for that ?thanks!Tero

Does it sound like "wp767g.wav"? Let me know...Phil Geddes

Hi Phil,Seems that it indeed does!I looked at the original PIC-sound.cfg, and seems that they have commented out wp767g, h, and p -wavs in the FS2002 patch.Wonder why ? Unrealistic sounds ?...Tero

You are welcome to "//" it out in the sound.CFG file. From my experience visiting the flight deck, and from cockpit videos... especially the VARIG 767 videos, this sound is authentic... and occurs even when the engines are off. Like I said, if it's your preference, go ahead and remove it. Let me know via email if you need help!Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Thanks Phil! Can any real 57/67 pilot confirm that this whine exists, even if APU and engines are turned off??Tero

The short version:wp767h has some background engine rumble and causes the aircraft engines to never go "silent" from Spot or Cockpit View in a cold & dark configuration. It was removed for this reasonwp767g is that electrical whir you hear on the flight deck to which you refer. It was removed by mistake along with wp767h.wp767p is the reverser sound that Eric simply hated so much that he opted to dispose of it. There wasn't time to create a new wav file for the patch.

Jase,You say that the wp767h was removed for that particular reason you state, but then you say that wp767g was removed BY MISTAKE along with wp767h. Do you mean that only 767g was removed by mistake and that the 767h sound was really supposed to go ? If this is so, then all FS2002 patchees :) should know to uncomment the 767g sound in PIC original sounds. I only discovered it through Phil's PW sound kit :)...You must be a member of the beta-team to know this all, right ?Thanks for the information, Jase!Tero

I know many of you won't like the idea of a pop-up vsi, but just can't bring myself to ditch reality and skew the perspective of the entire panel to acomodate this instrument... I hope it looks okay.Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Gosh, I hope you had Auto brakes on 4! How long is that runway? Anyways, I don't have any problem seeing anything on approach that yours does and seeing that the landing view for a given pilot is surely relative to his or her height or how high their seat is! LOL. A few inches of screen really dosent compromise the approach as you can see in my pic. If capt BBall never had your view in the first place and just used mine i'm sure he would have said something similar about it "being correct in view perspective". The point is, if we can see the runway and see it good then we have acheived a very good alternitive to PIC's default view for landing. I must say that just having this type of view over the default one makes PIC like a whole new sim to me. Peace.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith

hello Phil...very nice VFR/Landing view... And im my opinion, the pop-up VSI is no nuisance at all.btw, beautiful scenery of Princess Juliana (? I guess, with 09-27 and PJM 113.0 tuned on final... :-yellow1 )best wishes...CatIIIdual (lfpg)

It's a toughie... I know it's a small thing, but certain instruments are aligned with certain areas on the instrument panel. The whole purpose for me was to capture the view "exactly" how it would look-- relationship of the instruments to the panel and all. Anywas, I'm sure Capt Ball would not have a huge problem with this... but I just want to have everything in perportion (sp?).Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Been working on a batch file, trying to get this thing suitable for posting in the Avsim file library... I'll post the latest files on my site ASAP.Sincerely,Phil Geddes

hi, i've just installed your VFR package, and i think i did it well;but the problem is that i don't have the vfr view in the menu, even when i hit Shift+2;thanks for your help;PS: your sound set is amazing!very good jobPaolo.

To tell you the truth I would think that your landing view BMP is more correct than both of ours! Lol. I think that having the choice of either of ours does the PIC simmers here a real service. PeaceBest Wishes, crvm
