November 1, 200223 yr "It's a toughie... I know it's a small thing, but certain >instruments are aligned with certain areas on the instrument >panel. The whole purpose for me was to capture the view >"exactly" how it would look-- relationship of the >instruments to the panel and all"...........................Maybe i'm missing something about instrument gauge placement? I really think that yours or mine or even Lee's could be true to life depending on how one is sitting in the capt's seat? The VSI is certainly in the PF FOV even if he has to look down A bit and that is what happends for me at least using my panel. Otherwise my eyes are fixed on the Appr lights and I will check my FPM by glancing down at the gauge. Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith Randy J Smith
November 1, 200223 yr You used a bigger slice of panel... that's why! :-) Mine is meant just meant to simulate the pilots field of view in the final approach phase as best as possible. With "Jake"'s input, I decided that this was the best mix of outside and inside view. He's also verified for me the amount of ground that he see's on approach... Unfortunately, the monitor is only so large, vertically... so to see that much panel, you sacrifice sky. Anyways, I'm not trying to disrespect your work. I don't want this to be a competition or anything. It's all about customizing!Phil Geddes
November 1, 200223 yr Oh.. and also notice his attitude... and his horizon in relation to yours... The horizon in the photo his a bit higher than yours, meaning the view points a little further down at the ground.Phil Geddes
November 1, 200223 yr Now if we can only make a panel that fades from the default view through mine to yours.............................Lol...............I'm sorry if I come off sounding a little cranky and I don't want to "compete" with each other as i'm sure you don't either. I give credit to where its due and for the fact that I would not even have thought about this type of panel without yours to begin with just goes to show you how much I appreciate your efforts in furthering the enjoyment of our beloved PIC. I love your sound edit and the panel is top rate also. So, thank you very much Phil for all the hard work and please keep it up.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith Randy J Smith
