December 4, 200223 yr Hey guys, This is an attempt to get back towards a more "PIC look" with the vfr panel. I'm sure there are those who use Lee's panel that would like to have the post and vsi included so heres my shot at it.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith Randy J Smith
December 4, 200223 yr But now the window looks too sqaushed! The centre panel too small.Stick with geddes, its mint.
December 4, 200223 yr "Jake", the 767 captain who was helping me out with the landing view said even though the view is pretty close, that he had actually pulled back a little for that photograph I used. As soon as he flies another daylight trip, he's gonna take a digital shot "exactly" how his perspective looks on the approach. Unfortunately, I'm afraid it's not going to show many (if any instruments), so I'll find some kind of compromise... Just keep all your eyes pealed for the next month or so!Phil Geddes
December 4, 200223 yr My personal opinion - all the VFR views attemtps are noble endeavours but I still go back to the Lee's "traditional" version. It has landing lights & everything that I need on final approach. All subsequent attempts grossly distort panel/gauge proportions and being the absolute panel geak - I couldn't tolerate it. ;-)Michael J.[link:jdtllc.com]http://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg Michael J.
December 4, 200223 yr Apart from negative or positive comments, I REALLY like the BIG EADI and EHSI. Makes IFR approaches easier and you can still get a good view out at DH. Personally I'd love this version without the posts, but I can live with that. As I said, I LOVE the BIG EADI... :-)Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
December 4, 200223 yr I think it looks good! I've always wanted to get a good in-the-seat view in 767PIC. I would appreciate it if you could send the splendid VFR view you have in the other thread to [email protected],TK
December 4, 200223 yr >"Jake", the 767 captain who was helping me out with the >landing view said even though the view is pretty close, that >he had actually pulled back a little for that photograph I >used. I've noticed that when I've tried to take shots out of the window, sitting where the pilot should be sitting, using a supposedly natural perspective lens (e.g. a 50mm lens on a 35mm camera), that you see pretty much nothing but window if you point the camera straight ahead. To view any instruments at all, compromises will always have to be made.BTW, I believe most pocket 35mm cameras are semi-wide angle, so you must have a pocket camera with a small zoom lens to get a natural perspective. I suspect digital cameras are much the same.Cheers.Ian.

December 4, 200223 yr I imagine what he'll do is have the view he sees in on camera... meaning he'll cheat it by moving back a bit so he can get the right perspective in his view-finder... Phil Geddes
December 4, 200223 yr Hey guys,Here's what you see when looking exactly straight ahead with the proper seat positioning....http://images.andale.com/f2/109/127/632235...m_final_MEM.jpgI obviously didn't use a flash, but you wouldn't be seeing much of any instruments anyway.http://images.andale.com/f2/109/127/632235..._ahead_view.jpgThis is with my seat back a bit (that's why you see the window post...the seat tracks go back, then curve toward the outside)...notice I'm not in line with the ADI, oh, and I used the flash (I think). :Dlater,BBall---------------------Capt. December 5, 200223 yr Author Thomas K, I tried to send you the other one but your email does not take that file size. Randy Randy J Smith
December 5, 200223 yr Author Hey Capt BBall, Since you are there, what do YOU think would be a perfect Landing view within the limitations we have here. When you are landing, what do you see if your seat was back a bit to simulate our flight sim perspective? 1] Do you use the ivsi while landing?2] Do you look at the ehsi while landing?3] What are the most important gauges you need while landing and what can you do without? Best Wishes, Randy Smith Randy J Smith

Notice that the rmi gauge is just showing the very top info. OBK, If that window looked to small I took a screen shot in game using the MAIN PANEL so if you compare it you will see why, but I have modified this for a bigger window view while still retaining some post. Oh and there is more window under that taskbar on top in the pic, my screen shot taker keeps popping this up! Lol Best Wishes, Randy Randy J Smith
