This is a good review. Would have been interested to see some remarks on the Land 2 and Land 3 capabilities. Just a few things. He mentioned that he couldn't find any SIDs. That's a little odd. Another, He has LNAV and VNAV selected on the takeoff. Big booboo. ;-)

That's a little odd. Another, He has LNAV and VNAV >selected on the takeoff. Big booboo. ;-) How so? Quite possibly that's how it's done at NWA. You can arm both LNAV and VNAV prior to takeoff and then engage LNAV at 400 ft. AGL and VNAV at 1,000 AGL by activating the autopilot.

Big booboo. ;-) This is exactly how I was doing it in the PIC before one of the 767 pilots on this forum told us this not the textbook operation. Now I can see this is not such an oddity after all. I admit I loved this LNAV/VNAV selected on the ground ...Michael J.

Perhaps you can, but he's not a 767 pilot, the 753 in particular may allow that. Who knows IMHO.

OK well I guess it does vary. So at UAL they always go CMD at 400AGL? Sounds a tad early. ;-)

This is what they do at AAL also, apparently. I think 400 AGL may be a Boeing recommendation.
