767 Dispatcher v3.0 New Beta Avail For Download

Featured Replies

Hi all,Did some check about reverse compatibility, and I think that some of the problems are solved.Things are as follows:1. fixed a problem in flightplan entry page. I hope it was the only thing and thing would work now.2. I think office 97 users will be unable to use the trip map display. correct me if I am wrong.3. fixed another major issue, so do download the new file.next some good news and some bad news:It is now possible to import a flightplan from and PIC FMC file - you just have to supply the file path and it will import the rest of the plan. You still need to "Finalize" though. The bad news is that it won't work under excel97, as it lacks the needed functionality. Again, correct me if I am wrong.Download updated files (select excel 2000/XP or 97) from -http://www.geocities.com/dispatcher3b6/another link:For Excel 2000/XP: http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/0004/7/...patcher_3b8.zipFor Excel 97: http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/0004/7/...cher_3b8_97.zipLater,Ilan

Greetings,I just grabbed the 3B8 and I've found something I think might be a bug in the dispatch page enroute/arrival time calucation:Here's the dispatch release page 1 upper-left section:DISP RLS B767-300ER WILCO767PIC(COA24) RLSD IFR COA24 PIC CAPT P.C. Clark DEP KBOS/LOGAN INTL/MASSACHUSETTS DEST KLAS/MCCARRAN INTL/NEVADA ENR ALT NILL ALT KLAX/LOS ANGELES INTL/CALIFORNIA TRIP DIST 2116 NM AVG WIND (HEAD) 74 KTS TRIP DIST W/WIND 2456 NM ALT DIST 215 NM ETE 0541 Now the upper right section:12/29/2002 9:48 LOCAL UTCETD 0838 1338ETA 1419 2219 COST INDEX 80 CRZ SPD M.80 INIT CRZ LVL F350 FINAL CRZ LVL F350 MAX CRZ LVL F410Now, if I'm leaving at 13:38 for a 5:41hr flight, should not the ETA be 19:19? I think you're applying timzeone correction (BOS->LAS is a 3hr dif) to the UTC section as well.Great planner tho, I did this flight within 3k lbs of projected fuel!P

Actually both arrival times should be corrected.Flight time is calculated as 5 hrs 41 minutes but you're gaining 3 hours by flying west. So adding 2 hrs 41 minutes to your departure time means you will arrive at 11:19 PST.The UTC offset for KLAS is -8 so the correct arrival time should be 19:19 UTC.

Ilan,I just put the spreadsheet through its paces and my initial reaction is WOW!!!! :-lol I just completed a flight from KMSP to KEWR and the fuel burn was spot on. I'm particularly impressed by the automated weather entry and the ability to import flightplans; but you should make it explicit that only 767 PIC formatted flightplans can be imported. I generate my flightplans in FSBuild and save them in a variety of formats including FS2002. I mistakenly attempted to import the FS formatted flightplan before recognizing my error. Also, for some reason my trip was not visible on the map; is the map supposed to rotate? Right now all I see is Europe and Africa...not good if you're flying in North America. :-)There are a number of things I spotted but they are mostly cosmetic and easily corrected. It might be a great idea to move all the visible calculations to protected worksheets or alternatively, to use a font color that is similar to the background color so that the calculations are invisible. Also, the button labeled "General Setings" should be "General Settings." There are a few other things I noticed but I don't recall them right now.How about changing the Dispatch Release to a fixed width font like Courier; that would make it look more authentic. Thanks again for a great product.

I did some fine tuning of the fuel burnoff, good to know it is working fine.Correct about FP import - only PIC flight plans will import correctly (.RTE extension).I forgot to write the instructions for the map page... well in brief, you have 4 map types to choose from, two are round and two rectangulars. for the round types you have to specify the map center, there is a cell labled "center on". specify the center first. You can also specify the ETOPS rule to show on (some) maps. when all settings are set and flight plan entered, press the DRAW MAP button (with an internet connection). Most of the calculations are hidden, but some are on the sides of the active sheets. I did not format them the same color as the background so that it won't be accidently deleted. You should not see any calculations on the active screen, though now I realize that I made it on an 1024X768 screen, so things might be duffernt elsewhere.About fixed font - Actually I did use Courier fonts at first, Then changed it to arial to match previous pages. I reconsider however if other people think the same. Thanks a lot for the feedback, keep it going so we can make a final release!Thanks,Ilanp.s. - about "general seting" - LOL, this spelling error was on the first sheet by Rob van Leest, and survived both Wagner and myself. However I sadly announce end of story for this one - consider it corrected ;-).

Sorry, nope, it appears that the flightplan function still is not working...same problems as I already described above in my reply to you :-(Damon

Ilan, I have several new questions on the 767 Dispatcher operation. I have read in some of the threads above that people are able to "Import" both weather and 767 formated flight plans into this program. First, how do I get the automatic weather to load from those two links near the weather blocks on the departure and arrival pages? I have the check mark in the square but nothing seems to be loading. I can go to the manual page and load weather but then on page three of the release, the only weather showing for the way points is the average estimated winds. Next, I read where you can import flight plans already in the .rte format. I tried and yes I could open the plan in excel but how does it get loaded into the release? I have pushed most of the buttons and tabs and have looked at the little pop-up notes but must be missing something. Do you have a tutorial showing the steps needed to complete a flight plan/release? This looks like a good tool if I can just figure out how to use it.TerryPS: With the help of your thread last nightI did get the waypoints to load. (manual input)

Ilan, How do I clear this old data out of page three of the dispatch reales and get it to print my route data? In this case ABQ-ZUN-PXR-KPHX. OK I'll try and help with a few things.WX Autofill will be automatic, you just need an internet connection on. You also need to turn internet queries on in case you disabled it for some reason.See below a screenshot Showing The Wx Autofill. To Show the Flight plan in the release sheet, you have to press the green button. see pictures below.I attached 4 pictures to show WX, flightplan import, flight plan manual and flightplan log on dispatch release page.Tell me if all is understood, and I'll try to write a manual or a tutorial.Ilan

Ilan,I concur; there's dire need for a manual now. :-)I work with Excel daily and I'm considered a power user so the spreadsheet was easy for me but it might not be as intuitive for others.Terry, the automatic weather works; just make sure you have a connection to the internet up and running before opening the spreadsheet, then make sure you enable macros and "enable updates" when asked on opening the spreadsheet. The weather loads so fast that you will not see it but I checked it against METARS from both ActiveSky and FS Meteo and the weather was exactly the same.I'd also suggest you use FSBuild to build your flightplans and it will save you having to type all those waypoints manually. FSBuild will save your flightplans in .rte format in the correct directory so all you simply have to do is type the path to the flightplan in the Excel spreadsheet and all your waypoints will be imported.

The auto flightplan format doesn't seem to work for me either Stiffy. Actually, it's the only problem I'm having right now. For example my path would be: C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002FMCWPNavadataFlightPlansBOSLGW01J.rte or EBBRLFPG.rte. I know the path is correct because I don't get a "Import Process Failed" message. I hit Copy Plan and the orange block advances one square down with no entry...then hit finalize and same thing . Now I create and enter the flightplans in the PIC FMC so I would assume that is the PIC format ( Grin ). But nevertheless, a wonderful job on this spredsheet...will just keep hacking away until I get it right. Regards, Nate S.

That's really odd because I am getting it to work quite easily. Here's what I did:1. Click on "Import Flightplan"2. Enter the full path to the flighplan in the "Enter File Path" box that pops up, in my case the path is F:FS2002FMCWPNavDataFlightPlanskmspkewr.rte. I haven't used the "Enter default path here" cell but if you're using it make sure you enter the path in the leftmost cell.3. Click on "Copy to plan", wait a few seconds and you'll see the yellow cells on the left side slowly filled in with waypoints and lat/long.Click on "Finalize" then confirm "Yes" in the pop-up box.

I have a feeling I figured it out..I do the same thing (create the plan in the FMC and then save it). The first thing it does is insert comment lines (starting with ; ) into the .rte - I couldn't get these to import properly, but I can get a file without the comments to import fine.See beginning:doesn't work:;C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte FlightPlan generated by WCPSFMC;C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte Origin Airport (General Edward Lawrence );C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte Destination Airport (Mc Carran Intl )H,KBOS,KLAS, ,W,MHT,,0,42.868531,-71.369544,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,CAM,,0,42.994347,-73.344000,115.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,SYR,,0,43.160528,-76.204567,117.000000,0.000000,0,0,0Does work:H,KBOS,KLAS, ,W,MHT,,0,42.868531,-71.369544,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,CAM,,0,42.994347,-73.344000,115.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,SYR,,0,43.160528,-76.204567,117.000000,0.000000,0,0,0Take care!P

Hmmm...that may be my problem...maybe I'm not waiting long enough...will give it another go and see what happens. Manual entry is pretty straigtforward haven't had a problem. P.S. How is the Lat.Lon. format interpreted ie: N4800.0W5000.0 or 4850N or N48W50...anyone??? Regards, Nate S.
