IFDG 757 Quick Setup Guide

Featured Replies

To use the IFDG 757 with the PIC panel do the following:1. Copy the PIC Panel and Sound Cfg files to the IFDG Panel and Sound Folders.2. From the PIC Aircraft Cfg copy the PIC electrical section.Paste this into the IFDG Aircraft cfg, replacing the current electrical section.3. IZ mentioned in one of his earlier posts this.ZFW = 130 Metric Tonnes. This should give accurate Take Off FMC speeds.LAW = 115 Tonnes. This should give accurate Landing FMC speeds. And yes, the 757 handles flawlessley with PIC. It takes off like a rocket, with 10T of fuel on board, nearly reached 6000fpm on climb out on the VSI.MarkBtw, anyone know how to change the view, so that I don't see the engine when looking back from the cockpit.

Hi Mark,I am a little confused with the weights of the 757....In the IFDG 757 config file I see...[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]max_gross_weight = 255000.000empty_weight = 127800.000reference_datum_position = 0.000, 0.000, 0.000empty_weight_CG_position = 0.000, 0.000, 0.000max_number_of_stations =50station_load.0 = 31200.000, 0.000, 0.000, 0.000------------What is the ZFW of the 757 in this case? I read this as 159,000lbs (127800+31200)...yet you say 130T (286,650lbs) should be entered in the PIC-FMC, then a Landing actual weight of 115T, 15T lighter ZFW than we took off with? Did someone leave the cargo door open, or is this a manipulation of real numbers to get the FMC to make sense for the 757?Please help me ;-)Thanks mate.Rob.PS - Some data:Operating empty with P&W engines 57,840kg (127,520lb), with RB211s 57,975kg (127,810lb). Basic max takeoff 99,790kg (220,000lb), medium range MTOW 108,860kg (240,000lb), extended range MTOW 115,665kg (255,000lb) or 115,895kg (255,550lb)....so it would appear the config file is set up for the 757-200ER OEW (127,810lbs) plus a load of 31,200lbs=(est. 140 PAX + 6000lbs bags/cargo) = 159,000lbs ZFW. 255,550lbs is the MTOW for the B752-ER so there's lots of room for fuel (96,550 max fuel load at this ZFW);-)

System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.
Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.
Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

I have not altered the 757 ZFW in anyway - Yet. I just used the figures that IZ came up with when he was making the airfile, to get the correct V speeds displayed in the FMC.>Please help me ;-) >>Thanks mate. >>Rob. >>PS - Some data: >Operating empty with P&W engines 57,840kg (127,520lb), with >RB211s 57,975kg (127,810lb). This is Regulated Take Off Weight, compaerd to Max Take Off weight. This is normally around 101750 KGS to increase engine life etc.I have seen the 757 within 1000 KGS of Max Take Off Weight Once.GLA-YYZ with CMM. Flight was full Pax - 226, baggage and cargo + 31 tonnes of fuel. However,I have offloaded freight, and non-revenue pax from the 767-200 with the PW engines due to being overweight restrictions.Nearly had to offload 1/3 of the pax from a GLA-SFB flight due to an MEL restriction once.Nearest I have seen an a/c come to MAX TOW was a Monarch a330 doing GLA-LAS. This was 11KG under MTOW, after we had offloaded 1 pallet of freight.Mark

Mark, they are in the AVSIM file library for today.Mark

Hi Mark,Thanks for the reply. So, just to clarify for my small brain...The actual modelled ZFW of Iz's 757 is 159,000lbs (72.1T)I pre-flight the FMC to show a ZFW of 130T (286,650lbs)...then before landing, I need to re-set the FMC ZFW to 115T (253,575lbs)?? These 'fictitious' ZFW figures are to 'fool' the FMC into giving correct Vspeeds for a 757 at takeoff and landing. The fuel weight additional to the 'fictitous' ZFW (GW) will be taken into account by the FMC based on the 'fictitious' FMC numbers to produce 757 speeds. Please correct if I am wrong somewhere. I am confused as you note a ZFW entry for takeoff at 130T, then a LAW (Gross weight landing - not a ZFW) of 115T. As you know, both Gross weight and ZFW are changeable in the FMC...please sort me out. Thanks mate.Rob.

hmmmm a 757 "luxury liner" that actually works with the PIC?Time for me to yank my American Airlines uniform out of the closet.Looking forward to trying this out this evening.Ian Elchitz CYWG

I can assure you, the 3-3 seating confirgurarion on the narrowbody 757 is anything but a "luxury" liner, ...as much as Eastern's 727's were "Whisperliner"'s...the 767 is still the best as far as the view from the back seats are concerned IMHO. The 2-4-2 config and standard seat size is far superior on the 767. American was very proud of giving people more leg room (6-8 inches), but it is a girth/width issue, legroom was never really an issue...especially for a fat boy like me.The 757 is nice, 767 rules!

Rob,GOOBA,GOOOX are currently in the following config 92F11Y.The a/c are in 2+2 seating, and use similar seats to what BA had in Club World before the ones that folded to become beds.Air 2000 currently fly "Round The World" Charters to all sorts of exotic destinations with them over the winter. Average Trip lasts approx 1 month, and costs about

Hey Rob,Couldn't agree more! After taking many flights KATL>KBOS in both the 757 and 767, the 767 is hands down the best for us poor souls who must sit in the cattle car section! :)See my comments about it and the MD-80 here...http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID47/16582.htmlGreat Canadian flight the other night! It was cool to hear the controllers switch between English and French when the situation called for it!Do you know if there is any updated freeware scenery for Toronto's new runway? I got kinda' confused when we all started talking about the runways there. :-eekStill working on getting some DC-9 info, I'll keep ya posted. :)Regards,Steve Dra

Yes anyway ;)I was talking about ZFW. Even for landing. Go to the PERF page and modify the ZFW, so don't change the Gross Weight on the APPR performance page. Well you can of course, if you add the fuel in tanks to the ZFW.Still just ballpark though.Iz

Steve,Sim Flyers just released payware scenery for CYYZ.I have not heard personally about it from anyone yet - there other sceneries are amazing, though you need a good system to run them at full blast.www.simflyers.net.Ian Elchitz CYWG

Thanks Ian,I have Simflyer's KATL (Naturally) :) And was thinking of Toronto...but I'm also interested in the cd packaged version that includes several Simflyer's airports (the name escapes me now).I don't fly into Toronto that often...maybe buying Sinflyer's Toronto could "encourage" me to fly into there more! :)Regards,Steve Dra

I bought the SimFlyers CYYZ because I fly in and out of Toronto alot. It is well done. And I have other including KIAD and KEWR and it seems to run a bit smoother. Not sure if they have changed the way they do things, but it seems to be less of a frame rate hog (AMD XP1600, GF2 card).Has the new runways, terminals under construction and the infield ramps. Nicely done and worth the cash in my opinion!Ben
