182200Z we start at KonaI have done this flight. It is do able. Even with the hazzards. LOLWarning do not go on the non-tarmack portion of the scenery, you will crash.

Amendment: 23N66 should be:24N66 N2400.0/W16600.0 281 390 000000 OAK_O224N66 199 DCT 281 457 457 00/26 01/22 .../... 0071/... 0099/...

Ok a couple of things1. I had to redo the scenery. It is now http://www.czeg.org/tern.zip offset to avoid the landmass textures from the default FS2002 scenery file. You'll have to load it again. Sorry. Get rid of the old one.2. The IF for the ILS24 IBRW is 24N66082/15 Take note of this for the FMC.3. The small shack on the island is now fully stocked with Corona and Brava.Cheers!

Hi Guys,Looks like an interesting event. Thanks for the scenery as well.My Q is that if any vatsim member can join this flight. If yes on which RW channel you get together for preflight briefing.CheersMusashi

Chris,That is some very interesting stuff about Midway. I too cannot see the Fish & Wildlife service trying to upkeep runways and what not though. Isn't Johnston Atoll somewhere around Midway as well? I had a buddy back when I was in the service get posted there. I think the Army uses it now for storage of chem weps.

We will be on VATSIM, if you are there we will private message you the RW channel rather then posting it here. I think it is better left to be done that way.

We usually start here rw.avsim.net/767picIf that one is down, we have a few others but whatever we end up on we will broadcast it over 122.80 (Unicom) on text. Always glad to have people join us.

HiThis sounds like a great flight! :DIf you don't mind me joining you guys tonight I'll try to be there!Hepp

Me tinks this one will need another Hut of beer on the infield at Tern Island! The more the merrier. I have informed Hawaii Air traffic. Hopefully they will be there.See ya tonight 2200Z KONA Gold baby!!!

...and they will tell us that you can not land on a 3000' runway, expect vectors direct Hong Kong.

HiHope you can help me sort this out. Or anyone! Downloaded and installed your scenery in a separate folder. Tied it to FS as a new scenery and this is the result. http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/24056.jpg:-hmmm What the h*** could be wrong?Any help appreciated.Beeeeeeer....

that is correct. It elimated a land class error with the runway sinking. You are all set to goadd this to your FS scenery config file at the end of it[Area.197]Title=Tern IslandLocal=ADDON SCENERYternRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=123

All pilotsadd this to your scenery config at the end of it.[Area.197]Title=Tern IslandLocal=ADDON SCENERYternRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=123This will flatten the area and you won't sink if you still have not dnloaded the new scenery. The new scenery shows the default dirt strip as well as the new runway. I did the new runway to fix and sinking runway problem. the scenery loaded on the link is the correct one so if you see two runways, yours is correct!

Thanks Bill for setting this up and you did a great job on the scenery. I took some screen shots of the departures on this short strip with Bill's obstacles at the end. Rather than uploading all of my shots, I am just showing Bill's departure because Rob's, Murf's, and mine all look exactly the same.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/24148.jpgThe landings were not easy by the way, you had to get the wheels down quickly and full autobrakes. You can see my tire marks in this shot. Anything longer than that, you get real wet as you slip off the end of the Rwy. Huh Rob?
