What happened to my duct pressure????

Featured Replies

See the shot of the overhead. APU power established with APU bleed switch, but still not enough pressure to run both packs. Anti-ice off of course. I can run one pack if I leave only leave 1 side isolated, and that was how I started my engines as well. Also note that my util buses won't kick in :-hmmmhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/24136.jpg

Ummm...everything does seem to be in the right position. Have you tried clearing all failures?...other than that, can't think of anything else, unless the config file was messed up.

You have an external air source connected which only provides enough juice for 1 pack. The external source seems to override the air pressure provided by the APU. Disconnect the external air source and the APU will provide enough for 2 packs. Rob.

System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.
Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.
Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

I undocked the window so I can move all the aux panels to my 2nd monitor.Yes, I tried to clear all failures from the menu but it said everything's working. :(

I remember trying to hookup to external airsource to see if it'll solve the problem but it didn't even after I disconnected it. I'm hooked up to external power source brifely to see if it'll clear the util bus lights, but it obviously didn't.Anyway, I haven't seen this problem again so far. Maybe it was just a glitch on loading on just that one flight.

You have an air driven hydraulic pump on.Regards,Wade

APU START PROCEDURE - COLD & DARK COCKPIT - STBY POWER : AUTO- BATT : ON- APU GEN : ON- L/R BUS TIES : AUTO- L/R UTILITY BUS : ON- L/R GEN CONT SW : ON- APU BLEED AIR : VERIFY ON- APU SWITCH : STARTHope this helps.

Hello Wade,I have a question. I have my panel setup the same way, except for, I have the Utility Bus "ON" and my duct pressure is 35psi ADP "ON" and 40psi with the ADP "OFF"So, why would he have such a low duct pressure with just his ADP running? Thanks,ED

Ed,take a look at the screenshot I posted. The Low Duct pressure that Preston is experiencing is that he has the HYD DEMAND PUMPS SET To AUTO, drawing bleed Air from the APU.THE ADP is not a factor in this problem.

Mark,I was just refering to the comment made by Wade about the ADP being "ON" and was asking why that would cause such a low duct pressure? I get the same indications as shown on your panel with mine set that way. If I turn on an ADP I get a 5 psi drop on the pneumatic gauge.I would like to know the answer to this problem for future reference. Thanks,ED

Ed,just carried out a test. With the HYD DEMAND AIR Set to Auto the 5 PSI drop is present. However this only appears if the PRIMARY HYD ELEC PUMPS are set to Off, causing the HYD to use Bleed Air to power the Hydraulics system. With the PRIMARY HYD ELEC Pumps on, the electric pumps power the Hydraulics and no Bleed Air is used.I think this explains it.

Hi guys. I just loaded a saved flight (sitting at the gate) that I know works fine and even with the ADP to ON I still have enough pressure to run both PACKS. However, in situation above (in first post) I don't even have enough pressure to run both PACKS. I can only run one by opening one of the isolation switch.Oddly enough, I can't duplicate the problem right now. Thanks anyway :)

Can you see why my util bus lights were showing "OFF" in my shot? :(Other than those 2 problems, the flight was very smooth though :)
