August 15, 200322 yr Hi All,Has anyone ever tried to bring the compatibility issue of 767 PIC in FS2004 to the MSFS Aircraft and Panel Design Forum http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=122 ?I have been following this forum for several days for other purposes and I was most impressed by the profesionalism of the active members of this forum. If at all possible I am sure they can solve the compatibility problems they are magicians! If it has not been done already can one of those of you who tried to install 767 PIC in FS2004 make a detailed list of the problems and post a request there?Michael
August 15, 200322 yr sounds like a good idea, i dont know the proper way to describe the problem, but if someone did id love to hear the response?
August 15, 200322 yr I don't believe it can be made compatible without code changes, particularly for the EADI, EHSI, and EICAS gauges. Only the PIC team has the code, so I don't think there is much we can do about it without them.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 15, 200322 yr Respectively Michael and Jamie, I HIGHLY recommend everyone refrain from hacking or asking someone to hack those gauges for redistribution. That would be most unethical at this time and would only serve to kill the optimism many of us share for a "real" solution to be developed.PLEASE

August 16, 200322 yr ook sry not recoomnding hacking at all, didnt realize it was nested in the code, I thought it was more of a panel.cfg thing cuz i saw something about the gauges working when they are undocked? So i figured it had to be in the panel.cfg--hehe but i know nothing botu fs panels. Lonny Payne has a great one for those who need a substitute, really reminds me of PIC a lot! thanks a ton for the help!
August 16, 200322 yr Far from me the idea of "hacking" the gauges or having them hacked. I have never been in that business and will certainly not start today. What triggered my suggestion in first place was the deep knowledge of those guys at the AVSIM panel forum. They seem to know how addon panels interact with FS2004 and they may have had ideas.Well, if that was interpretated as a proposal of hacking then I am sorry. Please disregard my first post or even better could a moderator delete this thread.Michael
August 16, 200322 yr I didn't interpret what you were saying as hacking. I was just pointing out that this is beyond .cfg changes and goes to the core code. I have no doubt the PIC team is capable of updating the code to work in FS9 if they so choose.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 16, 200322 yr Opps, now you see I too am coming off somewhat misunderstood. I was really not aiming that to any of you guys, rather the community as a whole. As has always been the case, I agree with Lee. My reply is based on having seen what simple well intended suggestions often end up morphing into. That reply came after I saw Lee's comments that clarified the source of the display issue. I simply wanted to thwart any creative ideas by someone else to take this thing to the next level. I am sorry if you guys took that personally, it was not my intention. I should have worded it a bit differently and that was my error.Mike
August 16, 200322 yr Moderator Lee,I've got the 767PIC working quite well in FS2004. I downloaded a file supplied by Martin Behounek which contains all the instructions and required BMPs to make the panel operate correctly. But you really do need a second monitor to display all the various panels correctly. I've undocked the EICAS, EFIS, FMC and all the relevant gauges are displayed correctly. Okay, there are two black holes in the main panel where these instruments should be but the important thing is that the 767 does function properly. If anyone has a second screen and wants to try it download 767PIC_FS2004.ZIP from AvSim. No gauges have been hacked so this quite legal. It will certainly do for me until a patch is released (assuming one is).Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). August 16, 200322 yr Moderator Not you again :-mad Please get off my back. They are not mine - I simply downloaded and installed them. You are really becoming very tiresome and a very bad advert for this once friendly forum. Odd sense of humour or not, you are way out of line on this one and if you persist in your unfriendly comments I'll report you to the forum moderator.I don't oftn get this annoyed but you really are getting on my nerves. August 16, 200322 yr Commercial Member Yes me again. Your ever-loving Cheshire cat, DS. Report me, Ray. Ray. Last time I checked the 767PIC was a commercial product. Owned by someone other than you. Posting information for FS9 modifications on this forum really is not "cool", Ray.Did the author of this frankenstein modification have permission from the authors to do so? I don't think so. Whether gauges, bitmaps, etc are included is immaterial. Without permission, it is THEFT. And advertising it here in this forum is abetting theft.Perhaps I should pop over to the Radar Contact site and advertise a HACK, CHEAT, D/L site for IMPROVEMENTS to their product? Would that be cool?DS CVA3339 / UKD149System: Attlon 900 McW Hamster/Gerbilized Quantum Accessible 55Gig Iodized-Encrusted Four-poster with Mega-brill Farzenhuuven http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
August 16, 200322 yr Moderator This is my last post to you. There has been plenty of information posted on this forum on how to integrate Posky aircraft with the 767PIC so I'm breaking no rules. And if you read my message again you will see I posted no information on how to make changes. I simply referred to an uploaded file that showed how to make modifications to the panel.cfg and I see nothing illegal in that.I have stolen nothing so don't you dare suggest I have. You really are a complete idiot! Ray (Cheshire, England).
