Ah, the life of the actor.Nice digs at Jumbolair (Ocala, Florida) for John and family... note the cute little garages so John doesn't get his hair wet?Ummmm, which plane shall I go to work in today? The Gulfstream is nice, but the 707 is LOUD!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51291.jpgDaryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

oh hell, you gotta be kidding me?remind me to become aquainted with this guy :)whouch :)edited to remove offensive language and attempts to get around software filters

Difference between Travolta and Shuttleworth:1 owns and flys these planes - the other sits at his desk using his computer to fly a 767 sim. Also about $500 mill give or take a few.

If you ever get a good close look at his 707 you'll see quantas markings on it. He did commercials for them awhile ago.Brian

Yes it's the life for sure!John Travolta has been flying for many years now and earlier on he almost ruined his career in acting because of the hours he spent getting all his various certifications. He turned down many movie roles because it would have interfered with his flight training, but then was offered a role in Pulp Fiction (for a mere $500,000) and it was that movie that revived his star status. Now John makes more then 20 million a picture and it's definately the perfect career for him to finance his very expesive taste in jets.I've read many articles about John Travolta because his flying ability fascinated me. Many people out there have thought that John wasn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but they couldn't have been more wrong and misinformed about him and apparently he's just a typical aviation enthusiast as he will approach and talk to anyone about flying and aircraft like he was just the guy next door.John was actually approached by Qantas to be their around the world embassador for them as his B707 spent many years in the Qantas fleet way back when. John agreed whole heartedly and Qantas painted his bird up in original Qantas colors and a year was spent by him and Qantas crew members flying to all corners of the earth with him at the controls most of the time. I'm sure Qantas benifitted from John's star status as much as John had his fantasy of being an airline pilot fulfillied.I must admit that I really admire the guy for following his dream of flying to the fullest extent and his second love of acting definately is the reason he can afford to have such great toys :)Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer

I think I have a woody just looking at it.How can one person have his own 707 and landing strip...this really makes me puke.I would perform oral on him to be his FO.Rob.

Another famous flier is Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden. WHen he's not touring/recording he mans the right hand seat of a 737 for Astraeus Airways.Recently they put on a flight for Maiden fans to see them play in Paris. Bruce was PF for the outbound leg, and the callsign? BruceAir!:-beerchug

Paul,I have met Bruce a few times thru his flying job. Really down to earth bloke.
