May 16, 200422 yr Do I need a joystick or anything to fly the PIC767?...because I was bought the PSS Airbus and found out i have to buy a joystick...is this true with the PIC???
May 16, 200422 yr Commercial Member Nope. But this begs the question: What do you plan to fly with, if not a joystick?Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums

May 17, 200422 yr Sure. It's just not as much fun. :)BTW - Christine Dirksen, the FDE guru from Project Freeware, never had a joystick of yoke. All of those great flight models, including the base FDE for the original PIC, were done by her "flying" via keyboard. :) BobK
May 18, 200422 yr Commercial Member I used to fly with the keyboard, but a yoke and pedals are IMHO indespensible.Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums
May 18, 200422 yr Yeah me too! I became a keyboad master ..... ;-) but only do it if you have too. Make sure to set AUTORUDDER in the FS menu untill you get your controller..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 18, 200422 yr Last time I used the Keyboard was for FSW95.Got a simple - 2 axis joystick with one button when I got FS98, and never used the keyboard again. Then when I got the first sidewinder joystick with twist-stick "Z" axis, I could finally turn off autorudder. As stated, its possible to fly with the keyboard....even possible to get really good at it. However, a sitck makes life much easier and more fun.Check out one of the Microsoft Sidewinder joysticks....easy to use, installes itself and the Precision line and new force-feedback line doesn't really need to be calibrated (they're auto-calibrated - at least when they're new). Then you can step up to a Yoke from CH-Products or if you're a little more conservative with the wallet, try the Saitek X45 which I use.
