October 12, 200421 yr As far I know the PMDG acars menu will only give you: out, off, on, in messages these are (QA,QB,QD,QF messages). The weather/atis requests aren't implemented and these could be 16 for weather request and 5D for atis request. There is also the entries for uplink/downlink messages storage but they aren't used.Maybe someone can confirm, but a lot of these messages identifications and possibilities are company dependant. When I done the FSAcars messages I was based in SATA International messages.Jos
October 13, 200421 yr The ACARS would be REALLY useful for simulation stuff like perf data request for eg, reading the ZFW from the aircraft.cfg, or fuel required, or cost index or stuff like that.
October 15, 200421 yr PMDG's ACARS is not working. It's designed that way for now. That will change pretty soon but not on the 737 first...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. October 20, 200421 yr Has anyone tried FS ACARS from here:http://www.satavirtual.org/fsacars/ ?BR,Frank
October 21, 200421 yr :)I will just give you some acars features (it also allow black box for flight analisys and flight log):1 - Direct message exchange. Supose that pilot A with flight 5Y123 want's to comunicate with pilot B with flight PO345. The A goes to the acars program (or gauge that goes with the program and write:SENDTO PO345 Hi, I'm hereAfter a while there is a ding dong in pilot B plane and he receives the message. It's also possible for VA admin to use web based ground stations to comunicate with pilots.2 - Most important downlink messages like auto position, metar request, block off on etc. All relayed to the global radio. All these messages can be seen in a global web based "radio" . The radio is athttp://www.satavirtual.org/fsacars/FSACARS_GRT.phpand the messages are like:[21-10-2004 11:40] ACARS mode: C Aircraft reg: [T/B737/F DUA] Message Label: 16 Block id: 08 MSg. no: M10A Flight id: DUA466 Message content: AUTOPOS N42
