December 17, 200421 yr You are seeing Negative altitude, Andy. The analogue 767 altimeter isn't as sophiticated as, say the 737NG's or the 747-400's digital altimeter. If you wind the altimeter below zero, the numbering goes, 9980, 9960, 9940, etc... (or sometimes just 980, 960, 940..)On our 767's, a bar comes across part of the window to stop you using these negative values.http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/767/...iveAltitude.jpgGee this is a tough crowd! :-)Cheers.Ian.
December 18, 200421 yr Guys,The screenshots are not Boeing standard operating procedures or crew training manuals in pictures. They are only screenshots.Overanalyzing is nice, but leads nowhere.Tero PPL(A)

December 20, 200421 yr See, ya learn something new everyday, thats interesting about the Altimeter, thanks for clearing that up guys! I knew it wouldnt be released with the altimeter 9,000 feet off, just something that caught my eyes, wasn't trying to pick on Level-D or anyone just something there and turned out to be something that I hadn't thought of, thanks for setting me in the right direction. I wasn't over analyzing... I can't I have no 767 experience so I am not credited to analyze, like I said it was something that caught my eye. -Andy
