Virtual Cabin

Featured Replies

Hi All,Looking forward to this release, however just a quick question, sorry if it has been asked before. Will this 767 have a virtual cabin? I.e. Will I be able to use ActiveCamera (or Flight1's tool) to go back into the main body of the aircraft like in PMDG's 737 and Flight1's ATR?If there is, is it possible to see a few screenshots of it, there are none on the website. Thanks alotJoseph

There are no previews on the site because they don't have a Virtual cabin sorry...I personally have never cared for the cabin, because it murders my FPS!!

Not really a need for one either, sometimes a wing view is nice now and then but id rather have fluid smooth gauges than a Virtual Cabin anyday

"There are no previews on the site because they don't have a Virtual cabin sorry...I personally have never cared for the cabin, because it murders my FPS!!"Thank gawd for that, another plus point for me to purchase the 767 :) , cabins are a total waste in my eyes.Dan.

Cabin Views.. If I wanted to see the cabin I buy a ticket :) If I wanted to see the cockpit I buy a simulation!! Kev

Hi All,Thanks for your repsonse, very interesting to hear. After asking around some of my flighsim friends it seems that this is the norm and that hardly any of them fly with virtual cabins, guess I am the odd one out.Still would have liked to see one included. In all of the payware aircraft released with virtual cabins there has always been an option not to fly with it, so surely sticking in the virtual cabin would make all parties happy as people could then fly with or without one?But even without the virtual cabin this looks like an excellent aircraft, really looking forward to the release, great job all.ThanksJoseph

"Still would have liked to see one included. In all of the payware aircraft released with virtual cabins there has always been an option not to fly with it, so surely sticking in the virtual cabin would make all parties happy as people could then fly with or without one?"When you consider the modelling time involved in modelling a virtual cabin, I would say that this time is better spent on other parts of the project.Dan.

In my opinion, the virtual cabin is a nice goodie but the hugest frame rate eater at all and it still doesn't make sense until we all have a machine running with 10 Ghz ;-). And I think that adding one at this stage of the project isn't possible any more and would make many months go by until the release.

I talked to some of my FS9 freinds last night, and to us it is a major dissapointment that there is no virtual cabin, i thought that was standard for a payware plane these days. But i guess this plane is then only for the 1% hardcore simmers then, why not leave out the model too, you hardcore simmers only need to have the panel.OHN

AFAIK only the F1 ATR and the PMDG 737 have a Virtual Cabin. I don't think the DF 727 has one. The 767 is a substantially larger aircraft. In some cases it has more than double the seating of a 737-700. A Virtual Cabin of those proportions would mean scrimping on other areas of the model - either the Virtual Cockpit or the Exterior Model. The Exterior Model comes with some innovative features - External lights tied to the correct electrical bus and independently operated, Deployable Ram Air Turbine. The Virtual Cockpit features many innovations as well - independent guages for Captain and First Officer including independent EHSI, EADI, Flight Director. These are surely features that would appeal to all and not just the 1% of hardcore simmers that OHN describes.

It's THE Level-D 767 aka "The Mecca", aka "The Bombay", aka "The GOAT"...And YES, this is an aircraft for harcore simmers :-) .And I confirm, DF727 doesn't have VCabin... but still a joy to fly IMHO...

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

The DF 727 includes only a pair of fully working wings (flaps, spoilers) in its virtual cabin. Although I like having the option of using or not using virtual cabins, I also like the "wing only" approach because you can still set up cool wing view perspectives during flight or during replay yet there is very little impact on framerate or resources.

WellLet`s take this thread to the next logical step.Boo-Hoo I wanna KC-767 with both the flying boom and Drogue and I wanna be able to refuel my good friends that want to fly fastmovers.Just kiddinTroy
