OK..I am fairly new to heavies. I am a hardcore GA simmer. Recently, I resurrected the PMDG 747 from my hanger and spent time learning the FMS and love flying the 747. I still haven't learnt everything...but enough to fly it reasonable well. Do it bia Capt. Auto or a combination of manual and auto. Then I started digging into my old heavies and found the Capt Sim's 727 and flew that yesterday. The 727 is different in the sense that its flying like any other IFR flying.. No FMS, no GPS etc.. old fashioned hand flying. so its another way to fly the heavies.I resurrected my Phoenix sim Airbus 320. But I don't see anything special about this one so It would probably go back in the hanger.I also have the PMDG 737 but its not installed in my computer cause I would have to uninstall the 747 and then install the 737 and then reinstall the 747. But I am thinking, I am not missing much after all I have the 747. How is the 737 going to diffference. Don't know if that is correct but thats how I am perceiving it.Now, coming to the Level D 767. I have been reading folks who own the 767 say nice things about the 767. and I am sure the Level-D 767 is a good payware by itself. The Q I have is.. How would it add value to me? After all its Boeing. The systems are probably similar to the 747. For the same reason I don't see flying the PMDG 737 cause I fly the PMDG 747...I feel I won't find anything new with flying the 767 (mind you, this has nothing to do with LEVEL-D. Just the idea of flying the 767). Could folks who own the Level-D 767 and the PMDG 747 or the PMDG 737 give their feedback on what they enjoy in the difference? There is a big difference between flying the 727 and the 747. Is there such a difference between the 767 and the 747? particulalry if you are flying using the FMC and the MCP.Thanks.MannyPS: BTW.. I would have asked the same Q if it was Level D who made the 747 instead of PMDG.

The short answer is that if you like the 747 and 737NG then the 767 is a must-have, seriously. Read on if you can be bothered! The one area where the LD763 really stands out for me is in the sounds and ambience. As much as I love the 744, the best airliner for ambience is the 763. Throw FS2Crew in the mix and you've got some serious roleplay happening. If you'll excuse the musing... Picture youself sitting at the gate at night with the cooling fans hushing away overhead, the dome lighting contrasting your panel with the inky black outside the windows. You and your FO complete your preparation and (if you own RCv4) get your start up clearance. Drop the dome lights and the cockpit dims into a soft neutral glow.On pushback, flick the engine start switch and watch those engine gauges.I can't think of any other airliner add-on that has the same 'realistic-feeling' spool up. That N2 gauge takes a fair while to hit 22%, it doesn't just spring up in seconds. Then after your flight, flick off the fuel switches and watch the engine gauges again. No sudden grinding to a halt here, the N1 gauge will show a gradually diminishing reading for a few minutes at least.Personally, it's the little details like this that keep me flying the 767, even when I have the (technically more advanced) 747 and 777 at my disposal.Downsides? There are so few that it barely warrants mention. In fact, the only two things I can think of are the absence of Virtual Cockpit FMC control (the CDU opens in a 2D window) and the fact that the overhead gauges are rendered on the overhead bitmap instead of in 3D. Frankly this doesn't impact on my enjoyment of the sim whatsoever as these were design decisions made to ensure that the VC was as smooth as it could possibly be, something which has consistently amazed me given the complexity. You've got to have it!

Thanks Mark.I appreciate it.Yes I have the RCv4.0 I use for GA IFR flying. Is there a tutorial for the Level-D 767 that I can read through? Any user defined tutorial or sample flight etc folks may has posted. Are you aware of any thing that I can search for?I have another Q.Would I be able to save a flight inbetween... Just before TOD and then contine the flight to its end...and then get out of Fsim completely and come back in another time try the aproach again? I can do that with PMDG 747 and I love that feature. Would I be able to fly it from a warm start. Meaning... Load the Cessna 172 engine running and load the 767 and its all set except maybe the FMC. This is important for me in the beginning. I am not yet a hardcore heavy simmer. I am just getting into it. I still am yet to start the PMDG 747 from cold. But I really comfortable with the FMC and the MCP.Manny

Well, firstly, the people who do nothing in here but try to force you towards the official - and password protected - Level D forum will no doubt try to stop people telling you what a good product the LDS 767 is in here!No they won't, they leave these posts alone!Get the 767. Can't speak for the 747, I don't have it, but the 767 is better than the PMDG 737 in a lot of small ways. You won't reget it!
