November 20, 200520 yr A new MCP coming out?One of the posters at the GoFlight site forum has just picked up the announcement of a new GoFlight MCP on the Simware site, giving all the current MCP functions plus LNAV/VNAV etc. It is said to be available on 30 Novemeber. No pictures or details yet, and GoFlight aren't answering questions in their forums :( Head over to Simware for what little information there is.Maybe we will see it in the Avsim store soon.--Bryn
November 21, 200520 yr Picture posted on the SIMWARE site. Click on the small thumbnail at the left of the simware page for a larger view. A very realistic looking piece of hardware - nice to see from GoFlight. But personally, at that price I'll still probably build my own (since I like building as much as I like flying).

November 22, 200520 yr I am with you. However, I will say, Go-Flight makes excellent stuff. It is realible and easy to use.John JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. My last was a T-6 IIAMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D@ 5.1 GHz, 32 GB DDR5 RAM - 3 M2 Drives. 1 TB Boot, 2 TB Sim drive, 2 TB Add-on Drive, 6TB Backup data hard driveRTX 3080 10GB VRAM, Meta Quest 3 VR Headset
November 23, 200520 yr I have to agree - I have a GF46 myself - it simply works. My only issues with GF have been realism and cost. My current setup has 16 rotaries and 64 switches / pushbuttons - would have been expensive with all GF. Well we can now say they have the realism part down on the new MCP!

Well we can now say they>have the realism part down on the new MCP!It also depends on what you mean by realism. The fact the unit works like a real one, or that it also looks like a replica. Both cases can be "realistic" but in different sense. Even an ugly button and knob setup, when laid out in a meaningful way, can make your flying procedures more "realistic" - you do not use the mouse.. (except the newest jets contain a trackpad, ugh.. :))Whether it also looks exactly like a certain aircraft type is another issue, but it does not define the "realism" of a hardware setup alone.//Tuomas
November 26, 200520 yr Author I notice that the availability date at simw.com has slipped to 15 December. Still no mention on the GoFlight site, and no GoFlight staffers have answered recent questions about it on their own forums. Anyone seen a listing anywhere else? From the picture of the unit (click the thumbnail at the left of the simw.com listing to view) it seems remarkably similar to the cpflight.com MCP. It doesn't look much like the "house style" of GoFlight. Could just be because both are seeking to model the same real life unit of course.--Bryn
December 9, 200520 yr $500 - OUCH!I have the "old" MCP and happy with it... I also own two "radios". They do not resemble any radio type out there so they are not realistic in this sense, but they are extremely functional and easy to set up.I would have prefered though if these modules had the look-and-feel of "made for aviation", and not of cheap DIY kits. That would have hardly increased the price significantly.IMO, with the new MCP, GF had made the first step in the right direction, but for me, the cost is too high.
December 9, 200520 yr Alex, I was just passing through and cought your link. VERY NICE looking project. Clean looking!!! Nice Job!!!!
December 9, 200520 yr Thanks Matt.Coming from a builder like yourself, this is a really valuable and encouraging compliment :-)
