Acceleration Beta.. please do not post until it's released

Recommended Posts

Guest Staggerwing

We have a problem with Beta testers posting shots of Acceleration.. as per the Avsim rules, only end users of a commercial product may post shots and only after it is available to all. See Avsim rule below.Thank you for your cooperation in the matter.Commercial Vendors:Please note that screenshot posts from commercial vendors with images of their payware product are NOT allowed. We consider any developers, beta team members, etc. part of the development team. Regular users of that product can post all the images they want. Your co-operation on this matter is appreciated. All commercial vendors should e-mail srstaff@avsim.com if you would like your product previewed.

Look here for the soon to be released (by MS/Aces) Acceleration addon for FSX: http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index...howtopic=128136Addon with FSX SP2 and...a P-51 aircraft made by SibWings (of Saab Safir fame) and a F/A-18E/F (Super) Hornet made by Captain Sim (exterior) and Virtualis/Cloud9 (vc/instruments). Great scenery's of Reno etc but awesome sceneries of Instanbul and the best scenery I've ever encountered for an Air Force Base: Edwards AFB. Additional Missions. Very nice! I wish I had the comp to run FSX Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

It's what I read. And why not? Third party developers get hired because they're good at something. And the the detailed Istantbul city and Red Bull air race scenery is made by Things To Come. Pretty awesome if you ask me.Now let's hope that ACES hires the Radar Contact team for ATC in FS11 ;)Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. I guess it's avsim policy not to allow forum posts of unreleased products, as this would be ... advertisement? Anyway, I don't think it's an F/A-18E/F but rather a C. :(-Daniel

>I guess it's avsim policy not to allow forum posts of>unreleased products, as this would be ... advertisement? I guess so, since Microsoft doesn't want to pay them beyond their acknowledgement of this site in world distributed digital print. Though we can't get picky, I mean Microsoft is only teaming with these guys. It's sad to have seen the world of FS move toward money and more money.

Since I was one of the offenders-I apologize to Staggerwing! When the nda was lifted by Ms and they said we could post picts.-my first thought was to do so in my excitement to share some images with my fellow simmers who were requesting it.Now-one of the things I like about avsim is its' consistancy. If I had taken the time to read the screen shot rules lol-I would have seen the rule-which applies to everyone-even a member of the avsim staff :-lolI agree-the shots are on other sites-but if avsim made an exception here then it would have to make other exceptions-and then there would probably be attempts to do you know what.So thanks Staggerwing for doing your job-and with red faced embarassment I will read the rules next time (though I still refuse to read directions on software).http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

Have to say I disagree that this particular issue should fall under Avsim's normal ruling about commercial products. This is a free enhancement to FS itself, not a third party addon. Surely, the whip is being cracked unnecessarily here!If Avsim take the rules too literally, we had better withdraw all pictures that are taken using MS Flight Simulator, perhaps :) It is a commercial product, after all.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a]
