Best Drivers for Geforce4 Ti4200 card?

Featured Replies

Hi Howard,When I started to get freezes with my new nVidia 4200Ti card, I and I could smell what seemed to be a burt odor it came to me that the card could be running hot. Then I took the covers off and the heat was really high.At that point, I kept the covers off, and then added a power fan, a small compact fan that really moves the air, and pointed it at the mobo and the video card. Now they run almost "cold" and i have never had so much as a blip from any freezes. I made a flight in 1X from KORD TO EDDF and everything worked like a charm. Same with my return flight from LEMD to KPHL, not even a quirk in the system. So it had to be cooling. My system is a IBM PIV, 1.7ghz, 512mb RAMBUS, and of course a nVidia 4200Ti/64.I think Howard it is very important to make sure that your cards have good cooling.CheersBob

Let me amend my post... I've now changed to the 43.45 drivers (Omega version, "quality" option, but with Mipmapping set to Best Quality) and they are better than my 30.82 drivers in both performance and visual quality. They are staying on my system.
