Red X's rather than graphics.

Featured Replies

Not to sure where to post this, so will give this location a try.At the top of "forums" (all of them in Avsim) there are a number of links. (e.g. "Help Us Continue to Serve You!", "Contributors Wall of Fame", "AVSIM Home" etc.)Each has an Icon or graphic box preceeding, but all I display are little blue boxes with red X's in them.I do see the same thing occasionally in other presentations but do not know how to get rid of them and display the graphic which is being prevented from displaying. Is there some option in Windows XP Pro which will permit the display of these items? Thanks:RTH

It's happening on my computer as well .... red Xs on the top of the Avsim page :-/

I too have the blank boxes with the Xs. It might be either a "Pop-up" window being blocked by SP2's blocker or something with Java in it. That would be my guess.Terry

Hi All, I'm getting the same - I suggest that the Avsim site/server is responsible, i.e . something has gone amiss at the site end - afterall we can't ALL still be suffering effects of over indulgence can we?:-)Regards Blue

Thanks for the confirmation folks that it is not just a short between my ears.I don't believe the problem is on AvSim's end unless they have a common bug with others, although this certainly could be a possibility. I see the same thing on other sites with some presentations. The popup blocker also is a possibility althugh I use a third party (Google) source and the MS bit disabled (I think). I'll experiment with this thought a bit. Seems like I saw this long before SP2 came along though. Some evidence of this might be on email, but outlook gives me the choice of turning them on.Happy hunting:RTH

Well to add to the mystery:The red X'x are gone for me (for the moment in AvSim at least).I really do not know what removed them. They referred simply to small red triangle ID markers before each of the links.I use the Google popup blocker which I recycled but really do not know whether this had anything to do with anything or not. If anybody else is useing this provision, you might try turning it off (and back on in my case) and see what happens. If you get any results, let us know.Happy flying:RTH
