I have a P4 2.6 with 1 Gb of RAM. I just upgraded to an nvidia Geforce 6600GT from a Geforce FX5600. It made a HUGE difference. Not just in FPS but in smoothness, quicker texture loading, and it just plain looks better!I bought a Gigabyte 6600GT from newegg.com for $160. right in your price range.Jim

Overclocking your CPU as far as it will go is likely to be the best (if slightly risky if you are not careful) "upgrade"..My P4 2.4 happily runs at 2.8 GHz but I've got faster memory in my machine so that may limit your ability to overclock..
