Great program and cloud transitions are smoother then FSMETEO also the cloud layers are far more realistic...FSMETEO made a difference but ActiveSky wxRe whole other sky...Thanks for your great work :-) and the crash hmm... not related to wxReAndr

I completely agree Damian. I've never used FSMeteo, so I can't comment on it. However, ActiveSky does so much to enhance the flightsimming experience for me. I had the greatest time last night flying from Sao Paulo to Rio. It started out cloudy and hazy, but the farther I went the weather got worse (or better ;) ) with a thunderstorm, very low visibility and 30 know winds knocking me around and rain blasting the windshield. In other words, it was awesome! :)I took some screen shots that I'll try to post later, but they don't look as good as they did originally because I changed their size and it hurt the image quality.Anyway, awesome work Damian! I'll be using this with every flight from now on.KP

I would like to er...third the remarks previously posted. I have used fsmeteo (and still do, sometimes) but ActiveSky IMHO is above and beyond. I was passed by a speeding AI757 on final today and the wake turbulence was pretty intense (I was in a 737). The clouds look great with visibility and layers set correctly. I checked awfulweather.com and set myself up in some intense thunderstorms which I must admit were absolutely amazing. The combination of heavy turbulence and active camera made me want to 'paint' the computer screen :-erks -- sorry I couldn't resist!Anyways, my congrats for a great program!Jeff:-erks

Yes, ActiveSky wxRE is great. I was initially having problems getting it to work with FSFlightMax, but now my problems are solved. I have returns. The service I have received from Damian and others has been outstanding. Also, FYI, Ed Van Knapp showed me that if you are not getting returns with FSFlightMax you can go to the world/weather menu in FS and the ActiveSky weather is displayed in the weather screen. Then press "OK and you will have returns.I just did part of a flight from KPVU to KDRO (one of the RC v.2.2 samples - as I haven't received my v.3 yet! Ho Hum ;) ) and the weather was spectacular. Low visibility and turbulence first then I passed by some nice puffy small clouds and then through an overcast layer and encountered some more turbulence. They way the small puffy clouds played against the upper overcast layer was wonderful. I then climbed above the clouds to 17000ft for a nice smooth cruise. It was very impressive.I found that ADVDisplay worked just fine with both weather radio and RC. I was happy because I had a concern about whether this would work or not.So far I really like ActiveSky and look forward to using it on all my flights. Thanks Damain.Adam

Hi Adam,>I found that ADVDisplay worked just fine with both weather >radio and RC. I was happy because I had a concern about >whether this would work or not. That makes me curious, because I also am using ActiveSky and RC3 together. But I can't use the FlightWatch radio feature, because the weather messages in AdvDisplay always get immediately overwritten by RC3.How did you get it to work ?Thanks,Dirk

Hi Dirk, I was using RCv2.2 samples and ADVDisplay seemed to work just fine. Waiting for RC v.3. In v.2.2, I found that if I pushed CLRT-SHIFT-S I could hide the RC messages then call up FlightWatch Radio on 122.00. If a message came in from RC, it would be displayed, but I usually had more than enough time to read the wx messages from FlightWatch. I personally don't want to have winds aloft continually displayed as I fly. I have been 'de-tuning', for lack of a better word, FlightWatch Radio as I fly and just recalling it as I near my destination airport.Again, I don't have RC v.3 yet, so maybe it's a conflict btwn FlightWatch and RC v.3 with regards to ADVDisplay.Hope this clears things up for ya,Adam

Hi Adam,>Again, I don't have RC v.3 yet, so maybe it's a conflict >btwn FlightWatch and RC v.3 with regards to ADVDisplay. >>Hope this clears things up for ya, Thanks for the info, let me know how it works for you once you got RC3.Dirk

Hi Dirk, Well today I received RC v.3 and just finished my first flight (CYHZ-CYUL) and I can tell you it was flawless. I just started out simple and did a few altitude changes and devs for weather etc. All phases of flight worked like clockwork. Tomorrow I start my investigation of Holding patterns using my DreamFleet 734 and the FMC.As to ADVDisplay, I see what you mean. RC very rapidly overwrites the data coming in on flight watch radio. Generally I find that I can read the flight watch I if read REALLY fast. I don't mind so much though as I find the inflight wx with RC to be more than adequate.Take care, Adam

Thanks Ed, you've been extremely helpful!Adam
