January 29, 200323 yr Due to visibility anomalies caused by FSUIPC 2.95, I was forced to return to Ver. 2.94, subsequently rendering Radar Contact 3.0 unusable. Will I need 2.95 to run ActiveSky ?Thanks, John M.
January 29, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi John,It will work, you will get an error message about the FSUIPC version.. just ignore this. Some newer FSUIPC integration features will not work but this should not effect normal use. What visibility problems are you having with FSUIPC 2.95? -Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 29, 200323 yr Hi Damian, Peter Dowson tried for a week to help me with these problems to no avail. What was happening were random visibility changes upon changing from 2D to VC then spot views. For example, if I set graduated visibility from 20 miles min at sea level to 70 miles max at, say, 15,000 ft; visibility would rabdomly change as I would cycle thru the views. 20 miles in VC then unlimited in spot mode, back to 40 then (same altitude, plane still) in VC. Still more annoying was a split-second 'rushing in' of the horizon on the random changes to lesser visibility (70 miles to 10 miles for example) All this happening regardless of how vis was set in the FS weather menu or FSUIPC 2.95 I did not know if this was an AdvDisplay problem, or an RC3.0 problem, and problem ceased only after returning to FSUIPC 2.94.Unfortunately for me, the RC3.0 wave files will not work with ver 2.94, so as much as I enjoyed RC3.0, I can now no longer use it. ($40+ down the drain !) As you see, I had to drop back 10 yards and punt. If anyone in this forum has any ideas as to what may be causing this, I would appreciate their help. Peter himself was dumbfounded, and reported that only one other person reported the same problems. Anxious to order Active Sky, thank you for the info Damian.John M.
January 30, 200323 yr Commercial Member what do you mean the rc wave files won't work with 2.94?there is no dependency on fsuipc and playing wav files. JD Read my blog
January 30, 200323 yr I meant to say I could not play the wave files, as my keyboard inputs( #1,2,3 etc) would not activate them. I forget if the AdvDisplay would not display the numbers, or if nothing happened after pushing 1 or 2 or 3,etc but in any case wave files would not sound. Thanks Jose for the suggestion. I did try that with no luck.Take care,John M.
January 30, 200323 yr Commercial Member i'll be glad to help you fix this, but the rc forum might be appropriate forum.are you saying 1, 2, 3 don't work, but 4 works, 5 works, ctrl-shift-p works, etc?maybe you have 1, 2, 3 mapped to something else, a fs function or something else.you can change all the rc keys by going to the options/keyboard screen.what does advdisp show? CS1-Weather Report, CS2-Clearance Delivery?or 1-Weather Report, 2-Clearance Delivery? JD Read my blog
January 30, 200323 yr Hi JD,actually none of the keystrokes would work with ver. 2.94. I will re-install RCV3.0 this weekend and do some more tests, then reach you in the RC forum,Thanks again,John M.
