March 4, 200323 yr I have the latest version of WXre. When flying out of the UK east towards France, midway over water approaching the French coast my FPS drops to 1. and the aircraft plugs through France at this rate. This has happened with many different Aircraft. The reason I post here is that when I disconnect WXre the problem stops. I have flown in many parts of the world and have not experienced it anywhere else. Can you possibly help me out with this problem.Thank you Andrew Andrew
March 4, 200323 yr I experienced almost the same slowing (to 2 or 3 FPS) on the ground and in the vicinity of LFPG, just for a brief time, using a PSS A319. This was the only occasion in which I experienced such a slow rate.Enrico.
March 4, 200323 yr HiI don't think this is an Activesky problem. I recall there was a known issue with FS2002 and crossing the French coast (possibly only applies to the setup of one of the European Passenger Pilot series of MS flights?) Check out:http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=l...UTF-8%26hl%3DenKey snippet from this thread below:"Vumba" wrote in messagenews:...> I am running Flight sim 2002 on XP with a PII 450 128MB ram and a Geforce 2> GTS and even with the settings set to lowest it chugs along slowly. Just as you said, when crossinginto France, the framerate dropped to 1-2fps. Coming across the channel theframerates were at around 25-30fps until they dropped - not surprisingreally as I was at FL280 - there were only clouds in the sky..Coming into Orly at that 1-2fps really wasn't nice (especially with thatreal-world weather wind!).Just as a test, I've restarted FS2002 today and placed the 737-400 at theend of runway 25. Sure enough the framerate is back up to 15fps - this iswith all the same graphics settings as used the previous evening. To me thispoints to something happening when crossing to France that causes the fps toplummet. Can others try this to confirm? My system is:Athlon 1200, 512MbGeForce2 Ti, Detonator 21.88 driversSBLive. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . With that setup, the fps shouldn't drop to 1fps :-)John.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . From: Cartoon Fan ()Subject: Re: FS2002 + XP very slow!!!! I think it might be a MS bug... my system does the same as yours... I havea 1.33 Athlon and 512 MB, and a Geforce 2 Pro (12.90 drivers).--------------------------------------------------------------Hope the above helps!Andy
March 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi all,Something to try is to disable all turbulence when flying in this region. Use FSUIPC's options to do this (both wind and cloud turb). There is some kind of issue in this region with turbulence that I am aware of. See if this helps? -Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 5, 200323 yr Hi Andy,Yes I can confirm that I to have these problems. I also have the same problems coming from east into the area around the west cost of France and Belgium. My set-up:2 Ghz P4764 Mb RDRam,Geforce 4600 128Mb.This issue was widely talked about when FS2K2 came out. I have never heard any explanation or solution to the problem though. Cheers -Lars
