AS2004: Turn on Global Writes

Featured Replies

Hi all,A few days ago we suggested that users having severe wind shift issues please try turning OFF global writes. In doing that, we verified that the wind situation does improve (slightly), but the core issue is in fact is related to another thing entirely (which we are working on). It is thus recommended to turn ON global writes to avoid cloud problems that can occur as a result of disabled globals. In a few days we plan on starting official beta of the first maintenance release, and will release shortly after. This will address the issues with wind and cloud transitions as well as some other remaining issues found post-release.Thank you everyone for your input and patience while we finish up MR1 :)-Damian

Damian - just a note from a user to express appreciation of your product, and how hard and timely you all are working on it. I read many of these issues BEFORE I purchased, and I was fully aware that there would be some tweaking and polishing to do - indeed I expect it to be an 'ongoing thing'. My expereience with you and yours over the past year as a wxRE customer left me feeling confident that issues would be acknowledged, addressed and maybe fixed! With that in mind I purchased it, and although it is not completlely there yet, I do not regret it.Count the numeber of purchasers, and count the number of people posting issues, and it is clear that it IS working well for most.I admire your calm (at least in print! :-), and appreciate your helpfull, professional manner.Cheers.

OK, me too. Actually the first post could have been written by me. I read the forums obsessively before plunking down the cash. I knew there were issues but I trusted Damian and gang would work them out. So I bought it and, to be honest, don't use it right now. The severe wind shifts that occur every 3-5 minutes knock my planes out of the air or cause the overspeed warning to start screaming. But I'm not screaming for a refund or bashing the product. I know it will be fixed soon and am aware of the challenges MS has made for these guys. Can't wait for the maintenance release. Let me know if you need a beta tester... I'm not working for a few weeks!EddieKSLC
