OK, I'm brave enough to say it, I've tried, I vote for ActiveSky 4.5

Come on if you think you are hard enoughI paid my $28 or whatever to upgrade from ActiveSky 4.5 to AS5 and all I have is violent visability changes, clouds popping in and out at the horizon, all sorts of unpleasant things.I had a lovely hazy horizon from FL350 with ActiveSky 4.5, OK a bit too hazy really but at least I didn't have that horrible ruler straight horizon and moving clouds and popping mountains.I say, stick with ActiveSky 4.5, who amongst the paying public says Nay?And yes, I've searched the forum and tried and tried with my settings

Hi, If you had only post this question in the support forum to help you for the problem, but you did not even post one time for your question. The horizon can be changed with the sky set as well for others things. Final conclusion and making asv will remain final release version is not true. "And yes, I've searched the forum and tried and tried with my settings"You cannot have all answer by only searching.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

You don't really give enough information for anyone to be of any help. However, I'm kind of at a loss as to why you posted this on the main boards without posting it here first, especially given the extremely negative tone of the post subject and the post itself. That kind of thing you usually do as a last resort. I've seen a few posts like this, and some of the companies referenced deserved it, but surely not AS. If you had done a search you would have found that not one single user has experienced what you're experiencing, so quite clearly it's user error. I'd cut the crap, ask nicely for some help, and enjoy a fantastic addon. billg

I have been using AS4.5 very satisfactorily for quite a while, ASV seems much less stable in preventing sharp visibility swings - and particularly won't hold onto a haze to obscure FS' horrible ruler straight horizon. And it's not my PC dropping the haze under stress because I'm getting excellent frame rates - 40+ at high level with the cloud settings at max - albeit with the 64x64 cloud set.And of course if you don't have haze, then all sorts of horrible things happen at the edge of your vision.I've tried changing visibility and cloud draw distances, the haze settings, FSUIPC settings, been at it for days. There has been a huge list of congratulatory posts about ASV, I can't believe I'm the only one getting these problems.

Well get ready for another congratulatory post for ASV. When I purchased ASV I was on a European swing with my PMDG 738. In fact I was in Madrid, weather was too good to really test ASV, then on to Cairo, same thing, went to Frankfurt and could not believe that Germany was having such a nice spring, even Rome had good weather. Well today I went to Helsinki, and got my first taste of massive thunderstorms, overcast and lots of rain. I have never seen such great cloud formations, massive CD build-ups with anvils going with the wind, with turbulence, an overcast sky that stayed that way. That is not the end of this story, I mip mapped enabled my 256 clouds and with all that heavy weather my frames may have dropped 1 fps, no stutters and just a smooth climb out through all these CB's.ASV has proved to be worth every penny I spent on the upgrade. Now a quick question for Chris Willis, why am I getting better frames and performance with the 256 cloud set than with the 64? Needless to say the quality is MUCH improved. This is very strange, but I am not changing one thing, ASV ROCKS Big Time!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks for a great job Damian, Chris, and JimBob Johnson

>I say, stick with ActiveSky 4.5, who amongst the paying public>says Nay?Me.I am as happy with ASV as ever.
