September 18, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,We have been closely monitoring things today, and can confirm that the servers have been running fine and our local server network connection points are also fully operational. Are those having problems perhaps using the same internet provider or located in the same part of the world? If you are having troubles please give us some details of your connection/location. Thanks!!! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 18, 200520 yr I am with Aliant/Sympatico in Nova Scotia Canada. When I was trying to download the 180000z weather it would only go to 4K and quit. If I entered 172300z and told it to download archived it downloaded ok (380k) but it was the 180000z weather.
September 19, 200520 yr Must report I am having the problem again. I reinstall worked fine for a few hours, but late Saturday the problem started again. ASV just keeps going through the "connecting to hifi data net" phase (about 4 or 5 times) then quits giving a "download failed or cancelled" message. I used Cable Modem Earthlink provider here in Orlando FL. The funny thing is that I've had to revert to my still installed AS2004.5 for on-line weather, and it is working fine. Any suggestions?
September 19, 200520 yr Hi,Try a uninstall/reinstall cycle!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 19, 200520 yr I forgot to mention that yes, after having the problem for the 2nd time I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times both the ASV (update from AS2004.5) the the first ASV update. No luck. It might be that the installer is not uninstalling all files for some reason. Could someone instruct me on how to do a manual uninstall? Thanks
September 19, 200520 yr Hi,There is no manual install. Please drop me a quick e-mail to skornaATcomcast.netHope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,If AS2004.5 works but not ASV, it almost certainly is due to firewall configuration issues. You need to allow full access to ASV and all its components (usually done in firewall software configuration by setting it to "watch" or similar mode while you install/run ASV).Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 20, 200520 yr "If AS2004.5 works but not ASV, it almost certainly is due to firewall configuration issues"That was my inital thinking also. So I completely shut down my firewall. Needless to say, no luck :( .I'll contact Jim( per his suggestion) later this evening. Hopefully we will be able to sort this out. Thanks
September 21, 200520 yr It seems that the problem was not with ASV, but with the new Zone Alarm update version 6.0.667. A number of people are having problems with Anti-virus and other type programs not being able to connect to the internet. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of upgrading Zone Alarm to check the link below first and save some fustration. http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board?board.id=instThank you all for your input.
September 21, 200520 yr Hi,Glad you got it and thanks for the update!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
