December 23, 200520 yr I was just wondering what the best percentage to use was? I don't seem to be able to see anything mentioned about it in the user manual. Thanks
December 23, 200520 yr bump. I was wondering about this also, as it isnt mentioned? December 23, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi guys,I suggest default for normal realistic conditions with weather influence. If you feel you want more turbulence, increase it. Want less? Decrease it. I personally use default and find it very realistic at least in Southern California (we don't get THAT much turbulence here though). So basically please experiment, and let us know what setting works best for you!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 23, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,Yes, or 50%, or as defaulted by "Normal Defaults" button.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 23, 200520 yr Ok, thanks Damian, will have to experiment with it a little tonight Nick Asus P5E3 Deluxe MOBO Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU 3GHz L2 Cache 12MB 1333MHz LGA775 o/c'd @3.6GHz Tuniq Tower 120-Extreme CPU Cooler Zotac GeForce GTX 580 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 Crucial Ballistix 1333MHz RAM 7-7-7-24 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1 x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache OCZ 700GXS Sli 700W PSU Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 FSX (Acceleration + SP2)
December 24, 200520 yr What does it use to determine turbulance? Does it happen to grab AIRMETs and SIGMETs and plot them?----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. December 24, 200520 yr Hi,No. Pretty sure just some randomness for now.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 24, 200520 yr Any thoughts as to using SIGMETs and AIRMETs for data in the furture? I kinda see them as almost being an option like the TAF processing. Not being a programmer or developer though, I don't know what processing power that would sap though. Would be interesting to see it determine turbulence strengths and probabilities off of those though. :-hah----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. December 24, 200520 yr Hi John,The suggestion has been made. No promises though.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 24, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,We are working on SIGMET/AIRMET processing :)Right now ASv6 uses the wx conditions and terrain to calculate and inject quite a bit of randomness... higher wind speeds, higher temperatures in rising terrain, lower air stability, reported gusts, etc., can all influence both frequency and strength of turb. Coupled with the VAS which is even further influenced from terrain and wind, it ends up being pretty realistic and influenced appropriately a majority of the time (IMHO anyways!)
