Potential conflict using two systems?

I have two systems set up the same, both having FS9 and ASV6. I use the second system as a backup. I'm considering running WideFs on the second system. Although I won't be running FS9 on #2, I *will* be running ASV. However, I *also* have ASV in the Modules folder of system #1 - will this cause a conflict? I'm guessing that I'd have to rename a few dll's on #1 when running WideFs and restore when I run standalone.Hope that made sense :)VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hi Vic!ActiveRadar might be a nightmare to get working right in this config. But if you're not running AR, it should be pretty basic. One thing is for sure: Your FS9 paths in both ASv6.ini and ASG.ini will probably end up automatically pointing to the wrong local installation (when using WideFS) so you will have to manually correct this, and change it when going back to stand-alone mode.Other than that I think it will work :)

Thanx guys! I may rethink this escapade a bit. Fortunately it's not anything I *need* to do. Everything runs fine as is. Maybe I should stay with the " If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" mentality.Have a GREAT New Year!VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

I have always run ActiveSky on both my FS2k2/FS9 computer and the wideFS one (not at the same time of course!). I do not use the activeradar feature. Right now, I run the active graphics on the FS9 computer, and just the ASv6 on the WideFS. When I'm just doing some testing, I will run ASv6 on the FS9 computer. I save all my weather files on one machine, though, just to keep things organized.Edit: I re-read your post. I haven't tried your exact configuration, but AFAIK, if you start widefs, ASv6 will see what looks like a valid FS9 running. You will need to change the folder locations, since ASv6 needs to write to the correct FS9 folders, not just via widefs. Unfortunately, I think you have to hand-edit ASv6.ini to do this. You could keep two copies of the ini around, and swap in the one for the configuration you are using. I don't think running FS9 _and_ widefs client simultaneously on the same machine is supported. (like in a wideview environment?)scott s..
