February 26, 200620 yr It looked like I got rid of stutter disabling auto-submit option in the AS6 menu, not so.I still get a 2-3 second freeze at the exact moment the weather finishes downloading and the station write process begins.I have SU3 installed, auto-submit off and the rest (again) as seen below in the copy of my AS6.cfg.I also defrag my drive at least every 2-3 days.Any clues folks?Here's the cfg copy://ASv6 configuration file Build 455[General]WindowPosX = 495WindowPosY = 495DefaultWeatherFolder = D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsDominikDane aplikacjiCloudLayerLimit = 3LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = DefaultStartupLocation = DefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Random AllDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Random AllAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = FalseIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = TrueForceSecondaryServer = FalseFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = TrueUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = TruePreventIcing = FalseOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = TrueDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = FalseLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = FalseUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 1AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONECheersDom
February 26, 200620 yr Hi,Couls it be your anit-virus scanning the file on every update?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 27, 200620 yr Author No Jim, we have already been through that - I have completely disabled my anti-virus programme.Cheers,Dom
February 27, 200620 yr Hi,Your Build number should be 470. You may still be running SU1.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 27, 200620 yr Author That is weird indeed, as I surely installed all the updated, SU3 included.Well, let me try to reinstall the update and see if that helps.Cheers,Dom
February 27, 200620 yr Author Jim,I installed the SU3 again and my cfg file still shows 'Build 455'.What gives?CheersDom
February 27, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Dom,In the ASV6 interface, the build number should be 470 you see this number?THe number in the CFG will appears when You click on the option button, click save and close, the new build number should appears in the CFG.-Also the antispam software can search for new files. -You may test fs2004 in full mode or windowed mode.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
February 28, 200620 yr Author Chris,Thank you for your input - much appreciated.I did as advised and indeed the cfg went up to 470, one simple trick with the options menu and it is now strait and clear.I do not run any anti-spam ar any other anti-whatever software at the time my FS runs, and I fly in windowed mode because the full-screen gives me lower overall performance than the windowed mode.I wonder if this comment has anything to do with my problem:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...e=search#301825Thank you,Dom
February 28, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,Are you changing priority of any applications (i.e. FS)? The "Decrypting and writing wx data to disk" step is utilizing the hard drive a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary. It sounds like a disk access problem or interference from another program, or priority problem. How full is your hard drive? Is it at or near max capacity? Feel free to e-mail me directly for some troubleshooting..Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
