March 30, 200620 yr I've read the "realistic settings" by Jim, but still I'm confused. Therfore I beg you to help me. I would like to have: - a more or less realistic weather impression,- a relativly good FPS,- a horizon which is a little diffuse (no sharp line!).I would like to avoid:- sudden wind and cloud changes,- sudden changes in barometric pressure and temperature during cruise.I have the newest Beta version of AS6 and the newest registered FSUIPC. My favorite aircraft is the PMDG 747F and Pax.Be so kind and tell me exact (for dummies) what to do in FS9, FSUIPC, AS6.Thank you!By the way. Since I bought AS6, I'm much happier! Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
March 30, 200620 yr Hi,1. Use wx Influenced Themes.2. Use 128 or 256 clouds. Lower the cloud draw distance to 30. Limit cloud layers to 3. Hard to say what else without knowing your system specs.3. Set maximum visibility to 29.4. Use Local Supression. Winds should not change suddenly.5. Only registered versions of FSUIPC can smooth these, and I believe only the pressure.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
March 30, 200620 yr Author Hi Jim,thank you. Can you tell me please furthermore the right settings of FSUIPC. Normally I should disable all weather settings, but what else can I do to smooth wind, pressure and changes of the clouds? Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
March 31, 200620 yr Hi,Do you use the registered version or unregistered version of FSUIPC?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
March 31, 200620 yr Author Hi Jim,"I have the newest Beta version of AS6 and the newest registered FSUIPC."Meanwhile I made a flight with the recommanded settings. With Maximum Visibility 29 in lower altitudes it looks very diffuse and there is no horizon but at higher altitudes the horizon becomes a sharp line. What to do to avoid this?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146200.jpg Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
March 31, 200620 yr Hi,It should remain at 29 the whole flight. Did you shut down FS and AS after making this change?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
March 31, 200620 yr Author Hi,yes I did. And I just tried it again: at about FL140 the horizon becomes a sharp line... Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
March 31, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,So it appears the visibility is going above 29sm when above 10K even with the limit option set at 29? Can anyone else confirm this behavior? One thing to try would be turning off "depict FS9 haze layer" and also try reducing your max FS9 sight distance. Additionally, ATI cards I believe can benefit from a TableFog setting in the fs9.cfg (please search this forum for tablefog to find the details).Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 31, 200620 yr Author Hi!Thank you. I'll try it tomorrow and tell you the results. For now I have to sleep. In Germany it's midnight now... Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
March 31, 200620 yr Hi All,I can say that 29SM works at all altitudes with B479.May want to try a reset of FSUIPC with default settings and weather settings Off.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

April 2, 200620 yr Author A little success demands for more...After doing some test flights I would like to expand the sharp view over the earth and have the haze as a smaller wall in front of the horizon... Is that possible? Kind regards Hans-Joachim Wennemeier
April 2, 200620 yr Try with maximum visibility set to 50.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
