April 24, 200719 yr Since this morning I am unable to connect with AS for weather data - also www.hifisim.com is not accessable with ISP ARCOR ex Berlin. We had this already 2 times and it was solved after a couple of days.My question now : Is it again only BERLIN or also in other parts of Germany ? April 29, 200719 yr That there is some shallow water then.Actually don't those signals go to satellite at some point? Or do they go via transatlantic cable? I've always kinda wondered about that.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
May 9, 200719 yr Author Hi Jim,once again this morning the AS connection into Berlin is not working !It is obviously a problem with peer1, after Micha from Berlin sent them an e-mail they finally solved the problem - see below . . . QTEHello Michael,Our engineers have taken care of this. You should now be able to reach the end destination. I have confirmed the return path, so the forward path should work fine as well.Regards,-- Ben Kennedy Network Operations Centre UNQTECan you check with them to solve the problem once and for all ! May 9, 200719 yr Author Thanks to an e-mail from Micha to peer1.com it is running again ... its deftly NOT our ISP in Berlin !! I believe your ISP should contact peer1 to reach a permanent solution - they are running some firewall software and this blocks Berlin IP adresses - they have to solve the problem every time by hand ! May 9, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi,Our servers are ping-blocked for security reasons. It is normal to not receive a return ping. HTTP ports are enabled which is what the AS client software connects with. This problem is not our ISP or connection, but rather something with the routing which is happening consistently with this same ISP in Berlin. We have no other issues with other users... just those on this ISP.We've had our network prodivers check things numerous times without any problems found. Each time the Berlin ISP appears to fix it by changing their configuration. The blocked pinging may be causing them to look in the wrong area. If anyone would like to forward me a contact at this ISP I will attempt to assist if possible.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
