February 25, 200818 yr Moderator If I run ASX real weather and load FSX and wait for the weather to be updated and THEN shut down ASX - now if I save the flight - will the weather settings, skyscape, etc be saved as well?I'm especially curious as to whether the XG layers will be loaded.Trying to track down a problem and need to get some sort of stable base to isolate the issue.Thanx,VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 26, 200818 yr Hi Vic,XG graphics will always stay the same until you submit a new set through XG.Current weather is saved by FS each time you save a flight.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

In case you haven't seen my other threads, I'm trying to find a way to manually enable the FSX fog layer with 0/0 visibility. So far, setting visibility to 1/16 in FSX doesn't do it. The visibility is reduced but it's "not" the fog layer.Figures - it always pops up when I don't want it and now when I need it on demand, I can't get it.VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 26, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hi there,ASX only populates weather within approximately 400-500nm so it depends on the range of your flight. If its within that range then YES it will all be saved in the situation. If not, you'll get blank/clear weather beyond that range (unless you've saved the situtation after you've gotten within range of your destitation).By closing ASX however you'll eliminate many of the real-time effects.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 26, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hi Vic,The "fog layer" should in fact be depicted at any visibility condition below about 20sm. You might want to experiment with different cloud textures. The Cirrus texture specifically (overcast) is used for this fog layer depiction.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 26, 200818 yr Author Moderator Hi Damian - Thanx - I'll play around and see what I can come up with. Working with Pete Dowson to determine the cause of VC panels, etc disappearing in a DENSE fog layer. Go below or above it and it comes back. Common factors seem to be FSUIPC 4.25 and possibly XG textures but XG is pure speculation at this point. So far all who have discussed the problem have been using 4.25 and XG. It happens with or without ASX. Pete has an idea but I have to get a log for him and as luck would have it, I can't generate the thick fog layer.Thanx,VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 26, 200818 yr Author Moderator Actually, Jordanal has posted a flightplan on Pete's forum that he says is repeatable in demonstrating the problem.Maybe we can begin to nail it down.VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
