May 13, 200818 yr Good morning team, I want to let you know some weird behaviours of SP3. Yesterday evening I set up a flight from LIEE to LIRF and activate the options of wind smoothing and wind shift smoothing (with SP2 during climb and cruise I had continuous overspeed warnings and sudden chenages of heading because of wind, also with wind smoothing option activated).Metar of LIEE told wind from 040 at 8 kts, and activesky changed it, because of smoothing, to 166 at 08. This is absolutely unreal. If I were flying online, my weather would have been completely different from the one of the controller (the runway in use also would have been different). If the wind was, for example, 15 or 20 kts (not uncommon in LIEE), the controller would have assigned me a runway for landing which was beyond the limits for the aircraft (because there would have been 15 kts tailwind in my pc due to activesky!).The solution, I've read, is to use registered FSUIPC. Ok. But in the presentation of Activesky you write that "FSUIPC is no more necessary because of simconnect", and this is not true. I have to pay additional 24 euros for register 4 version even if I have the 3 registered.I think you'll be able to resolve these problems, because AciveskyX looks very powerful, especially for enroute winds.Best regards!
May 13, 200818 yr Hi,Sorry for the problem. Winds are still an issue we continue to work on.Yes, with wind smoothing On your data will be different when Online. That is a time for Wind Smoothing to be turned Off.Correct, FSUIPC is no longer necessary, but Pete has worked on wind smoothing also and one way to exert control of the winds is with a registered version of FSUIPC. Is it necessary? No, but now the option is there, thanks to Pete's hard work in this area.Again, we continue to gather this type of data and will look to further improve upon things.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 13, 200818 yr Thank you Jim for yur answer. So I'll register FSUIPC and activate wind smoothing on it, and turn it off from ASX. Is it correct this way?Massimiliano
May 13, 200818 yr Yes, I use wind smoothing options in FSUIPC and disable all smoothing options in ASX-sp3.Regards, Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
May 13, 200818 yr Sounds as though we are all in need of a clear statement when an SPx is released as to what options need to be set for PMDGX, FSX, ASX and FSUIPC4?Cheers, Richard Cheers, Richard Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.2 GHz, 16 GB memory, 1 TB SSD, GTX 1080 Ti, 28" 4K display Win10-64, P3Dv5, PMDG 748 & 777, Milviz KA350i, ASP3D, vPilot, Navigraph, PFPX, ChasePlane, Orbx

Do you mean flying with others 'online' or having ASX updated 'online'?Brent Brent Beale
May 13, 200818 yr Hi,Online as in VATSIM or a service such as that. Or then too, online with others, if you want your winds data to closely match up. If you are in a multi-player session and winds are 90 for everyone but you and yours are 270, it might make for an ugly landing session.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 18, 200818 yr Commercial Member >Yes, I use wind smoothing options in FSUIPC and disable all>smoothing options in ASX-sp3.>>Regards,Yes I think I would prefer using the FSUIPC wind smoothing whether I was flying on vatsim or not. I noticed my winds were a little wacky again after the betas. Unless its just the spring squalls starting up where I fly the most. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
