>Hi,>>That is the FSX visibility layer.>>1. Use the X Graphics Cirrus OVC #4 or #5 textures. Also>uncheck this texture option under Advnaced options so that it>does not get changed.>>2. In ASX increase your maximum visibility to 200.Jim - this brings a couple of questions to mind for me to sort out the visibility layer - Currently experimenting with FEX but I assume I can just select the Cirrus set in XG and load only those. My question is - with these settings what happens when the visibiilty *IS* 1 or 2 miles or less? There have been times when IRL I've flown in the LA Basin and it was exactly as depicted in the visibility layer, only a little more brown in color.I would like to maintain real weather and depict low vis as necessary but eliminate the layer when the area is clear.Thanx,VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx XG 174.74 702/1620/792Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg

It looks like '1' due to font size-it is definitely 4.Qas

Hi Vic,If using the "Clear" textures from above, the white visibility layer should be gone. However, I believe that you can still get low vis. if you are flying below where this layer starts, around 3K. I believe that this visibility layer is a very thin layer, whereas low visibility is a very thick layer.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi Qas,Do you have the service pack installed for xgrahics? Also try 5 and see.The worst scenario with overcast 04 and 5, is at 0.1km the most limited visibility, you should not have more then this see pic and only with 0.1km at worst scenario. less then 1 miles it's start to appears a little buy little, but noting near a solid white. To be sure again.-Install overcast 4-uncheck overcast 4.-Close XG (to enable the uncheck from before)-open xg.-Close xg.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/190733.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/190734.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/190735.jpgThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg

I was assuming the FSX visibility layer was the controlling factor in overall visibility. I'll play a bit and see.Thanx!Q6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx XG 174.74 702/1620/792Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg
