Sound question!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I just have a little question on the sound that comes with BT. At high rpm's, is it supposed to have this kind of repeating buzzing sound? Its very distinctive, and a little annoying. Maybe I have my computer set up incorretly........?Thanks!

Hello,It's not something I've heard, to be honest. I sometimes get a similar effect to what I think you are describing with other aircraft (especially turboprops), but not with BT. I wonder if it is something to do with the amplifiers on sound cards?Ian P.:-halo

I get the same sound. I have a Creative SB live 5.1 sound card. This is the only AC I experience this with. Really doesnt effect the experience in anyway just wondering why it happens.Andrew

I have the same issue!I thought it was a cricket in the left engine :)Seriously, I've got a Sound Blaster PCI 512 and the buzzing sound is consistent but only every couple of seconds.I have tried adjusting my ingame sound settings to try to aleviate the problem but to no avail.Any help on this one would be great.

Some of the old SB Live 5.1 drivers were REAL lemons. :-( The only way I got rid of the bad ones I had on my system (they completely knocked out hardware buffering and DirectSound support!) was a complete reinstall. The drivers currently on Creative's site are good, but they don't seem to "heal" the problems caused by the old broken drivers. Don't ask me why, I dunno either. :-)--M

I am getting the same sound problem as you guys and I don't have a Creative SB. Mine is just an onboard AC97 thats in my HP Pavillion. Have not had this on any other aircraft.Chris

I have now fixed the problem and will post a link to the two wavs so that you may download them and try them out. I would be very interested to get feedback from those who have this problem. Please download from here.http://ftp.flightsimnetwork.com/BA_Crew/sc...ts/bt_patch.zipBest WishesMike Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Hi Mike, Your fix has cured the buzzing/chirping sound in the engines on my system. I have a HP pavilion with the Soundmax/AC97 onboard sound. Took it for a short flight and all seemed to be cured at high RPM which was where I noticed the problem. Thanks, your sounds are excellent as usual. If you need any more specifics about exactly when the problem occued let me know, but as I said your patch has fixed it for me. Thanks againChris

I did suspect the high rpm wavs were suspect and caused your problem, although it was not that bad on my system, but as others were also experiencing the same bug I decided to change the two suspect wavs. Please let me know of you have any more problems chris.Best WishesMike Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif
