June 10, 200421 yr Commercial Member Looks like there's another FS9 fix in these drivers:"Display corruption is no longer seen when using particular aircraft in "Century of Flight" games found in Flight Simulator 2004"Not sure what that means but I suppose it's good! Personally I'm waiting for Omega's version of these, but thought I'd post the news... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
June 10, 200421 yr The release notes mention several performance improvements such as:"Improvements in our surface allocation and texture management code have increased performance for resource-challenged cases. Re-Volt scores improve 25% at 1600x1200 across several RADEON configurations. ShaderMark Test 14 (Veined Marble) improves dramatically (up 380% at 1600x1200) on some 256MB products."I wonder if this applies to FS9? I'm almost tempted to give this Catalyst a try before the Omega comes out.
June 10, 200421 yr Just tried them, and they seem much better. I used to have a problem with side views in 2D panel. I would get blotchy, some times flickering tectures when looking left or right. It seeems to have been fixed. Of course I only did one flight, but hopefully this will hold true.Bill
June 10, 200421 yr Hi,I didn't like the 4.3's, 4.4's or 4.5's. But this version seems very agreeable with my system. :)Cheers,JimSystem Specs:Intel 3.4C(C = Northwood) on Asus P4C800-E Deluxe, 1 GB Muskin '222' Special PC3200 RAM, NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 22" Monitor, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Videocard with v4.6 Catalyst Drivers, DirectX 9.0b, Creative Audigy2 Soundcard, 250 GB w/8 MB Cache Western Digital HDD, WinXP Pro SP1
June 12, 200421 yr I just went from the 4.2's to the 4.6's, and must say I will stick with these. :9 i9-13900KS | ASUS Z790 Maximus | Lian Li Galahad II Trinity | G-Skill DDR5-7200 CL34 2x16 | Nvidia 4090 FE | Samsung 990 Pro x 2
June 12, 200421 yr Wow!!These have given me a boost in my two monitor setup I wouldn't have believed possible without a hardware upgrade. In heavy clouds when ActiveSky works with 4-5 cloud layers I now have 4-5 fps more than before. If you have one of the newer cards (mine is 9800XT) get them.Alex

June 14, 200421 yr I too did not get along with the .3, .4, or .5"s. However, I am real pleased with the .6 . Smoothness is better with a slight frame rate improvement. Less flicker too. Not GONE I say, but less.
June 15, 200421 yr I have to echo the other comments posted. A definite gain in FPS and smoothness...better that the previous three releases. I could not believe it when I fired up the sim yesterday after installing the 4.6's; I thought it was just my wishful thinking at work but now that others have seen the improvement, I can trust my senses again. These are a definite keeper!Larry S.
