Not sure if this is old news but if it aint , here it is for those that like to take the early plunge :-)http://tinyurl.com/4sse6

Well, I don't see how it could be all that old of news since the Posted Date for the file is 7/26/2004!I would install it but I don't think it's much use for me as an end user. It doesn't appear to me that it would install any runtime libraries, so I didn't download it.Cheers,Jim

I gave it a download, seems good so far, maybe a 1 or 2 more FPS but other then that not much difference.

Well, I thought when I first looked at it that it didn't contain the runtime and was just something for Software developers.... but my mistake!:-dohSo I'm downloading it now.Jim

Hi JimHope you'll post the results; I'm always leary about installing something that's not necessary but might be an improvement. Dowmloading now and awaiting your opinion!ThanksDavid

My system didn't like 9.0c at all. Not as smooth as 9.0b... with the latest version I developed a bit of a stutter in turns. I restored back to 9.0b.Greg

Hello David,I installed it and didn't seem to notice much difference really. Maybe a slight improvement like Kurt said. Overall, it seems to be working just fine on my system.Regards,Jim

Thanks Jim and Greg. I think I'll hold off installing it for a bit.David

nstalled it this afternoon. It seems to me that while framerates haven't changed really, there seems to be less stuttering and pausing for textures to laod when changing views. Just seems like things pop into place more quickly. Could be my imagination too though...haven't noticed any negative effects though.

I've been searching for a link I read a couple months ago but of course is proving elusive now :-( . Basically, it stated the changes to 9.0c, and it seemed to me that none of them would really benefit FS. I'll keep searching for the link...One thing to keep in mind, too, is that the slight increase in performance some might be seeing could be the result of a fresh install of DirectX... no matter what the version.Cheers to all,Greg

I noticed more of a difference now that I went to 61.77, yes NVIDIA came out with new drivers on there site already.

Ugh !!! ATI Where Are you ??? :-8

I downloaded 9.0c from Microsoft and am I pleased. FS9 is so smooth when changing views compared to 9.0b. I love it.

Hard to believe you can have this much conviction. FS is so dependent on the exact situation, layers/types/density of clouds, etc, that it becomes very difficult to be certain unless the change is distinct and consistent. Noel
