October 10, 200421 yr I'm doing a fresh install of FS9 and had been using the driver that came with my 8300 (4.1's I think) and was wondering if anyone had a version that has worked well for them and recommend. Thanks,Mark
October 10, 200421 yr I am using latest Omega drivers. I am exteremly pleased with them.Correction - I am using Omega 2.5.76 drivers. I just found out there are brand new 2.5.90 available. Will try them tonight.Michael J.WinXP-Home,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8, Radeon X800 Pro,WD 36GB Raptor,1 GB PC3200 http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
October 10, 200421 yr Mark - I found the 4.3's to be an improvement over the earlier versions but I've seen little, if any, change since then. I'd just go ahead and load the latest version.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 11, 200421 yr I get a lot of shimmering with the latest drivers. The best for me were the 4.1 Omega. I have a 9600SE. Any hints on how to resolve the shimmering? Even get wobbles on the screen if I open up an add-on program running on top of FS (eg. squawkbox).ThanksShez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
October 11, 200421 yr I just tried the latest 2.7.90 and they are phenomenal. They are based on some ATI beta which apparently especially give boost to those with 256 Mb cards. I have one and I see a boost. Shimmering - I stay with mip mapping at 4 and this gives me little shimmering. But I agree there is always some shimmering but I never saw any drivers that would totally eliminate them.Michael J.WinXP-Home,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8, Radeon X800 Pro,WD 36GB Raptor,1 GB PC3200 http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
October 12, 200421 yr It should be noted that the 2.7.90's will only do AF in Performance mode. Omega is aware of the problem and plans to fix it in the next driver set.Greg
October 12, 200421 yr The new 8.07 betas runs veeeery good on my rig. Currently am using the Omega version of them - seen no huge difference in terms of IQ, speed or benchmarks maybe a couple of 10s higher in Aqua marks I think :)Would definately recommend these sets :)Edit: Whatever you do, just stay clear of any cats that has the new CCC control panel with it - its in extreme beta still and has caused alot of people problems mainly memory hogging.
