January 11, 200521 yr I had to reinstall FS2002,needed new M/B.I have installed the original drivers that came on the WinFast CD.(April 2002) May I have recommendations for suitable drivers for this card? I was running Detonator 40.x something, but when I searched the Guru site I was unable remember the number.I am running Windows XP Home.Do I have to remove the WinFast driver to install a NVidia driver or does the XP Wizard handle this?System.Asus A7N8X-XAMD Athlon XP 32001 GB DDRAMFG4 Ti 4600 124MbRodger
January 11, 200521 yr The 66.93 from nvidia worked really good for me I was using a 64mb Ti4200. ________________________________________________________________________________ Jeremy 9800X3D OC'd -30 +200MHZ | 64GB CL30 RAM | RTX 5080 | Windows 11 23H2| Bravo Throttle | Alpha Yoke | CH Pedals | Logitech Radio Panel | SmoothTrack | AAO
January 11, 200521 yr Hello,I run FS9 (not FS2002) with a GF4 TI4600 (overclocked) and the latest Nvidia driver with success. Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
January 12, 200521 yr I run FS2002 (as well as FS98 and FS9) and use a ti 4600, my card is running with standard clock settings (not overclocked) and get the best results overall with the 45.23 drivers combinned with riva tunner, the drivers are still avaialble from Nvidia, http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_45.23.html the scond best results came with the latest drivers so it is probable if the card is overclocked it may benefit from the latest drivers. one thing to consider is that the 45.23 drivers where the last made specifically for the G4 ti series before the FX cards where introduced.
January 13, 200521 yr Bruce. Thanks for your reply. This is the info I needed.I will take a "brave pill" and install 45.23.Where do I find the Riva tuner.Rodger
January 13, 200521 yr Bruce,I have installed the 45.23 drivers and they have cured the "shimmers"and I can now access the advanced setting on the card. The only down-side is, when I change from an outside view to cockpit view, the instrument panel takes on a purple haze.It eventually clears.I am using Active Camera.I had the same problem a few years ago and I cured it by setting the mode in the CFG file from 1600x1200x32 to 1600x1200x16 ,but it doesn't work now.Any suggestions.Rodger
January 13, 200521 yr Hello,I can find RivaTuner at www.guru3d.com Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
January 13, 200521 yr i had that purple problem with the panels for ages, i think it eventually went when i upgraded to windows sp2, i did not remeber doing anything else at the time the problem stopped. the problem seemed to go away when i clciked the mouse but came back.
January 18, 200521 yr Earlier reports pick the 56.72 drivers as the "last nvidia" drivers that work well (without stutters) on the Ti4XXX cards.I use these drivers on my Ti4200 and am very satisfied (better than the 6X.XX series of drivers for my card). Bert
January 22, 200521 yr I have a slightly related question. My M/B and 5700FX Ultra recently died and I've temporarily gone back to my dinosaur GeForce2 MX/MX400. I've got the latest NVIDIA drivers installed (the 6.6.9.3) and a fresh installation of FS9. For the first time ever the 2D cockpit views show only 50% of the panel stretched across the screen in any FS9 plane. The radios, and GPS don't appear. It is very distorted and nonfunctional (the click spots don't correspond with the visual placement of the switches. This is in any screen resolution and with Windows or full-screen mode. Everything else looks fine (VC and external views).Has anyone seen this? Could this be a driver issue? Thanks for any help.DD
January 22, 200521 yr Start by renaming your FS9.cfg file and start up FS9 to rebuild a new default FS9.cfgThat may solve your problem. If not, go back to a well known driver release like the 30.82 or indeed my current favorite, the 56.72 drivers. Bert
January 22, 200521 yr Wow! Thanks for the fast response. I'm not sure I understand - rename the FS9.cfg file - to what name? Thanks!DD
January 22, 200521 yr Actually I went ahead and renamed the cfg file something random and I see that FS9 just makes another one with default settings - same problem however. Any other thoughts! Thanks!DD
January 22, 200521 yr That was the idea... BTW, does the problem persist if you reduce the screen resolution to 1024x768x16?And disable AA and AF, just as a test? I'm afraid that the next suggestion is indeed to to uninstall the 6xxx drivers and install an older set.www.guru3d.com has them all. Bert
January 22, 200521 yr Bert:The problem did persist no matter what the screen resolution or 16 vs. 32 bit.It resolved with turning off AA and AF. I'll experiment to see which was the culprit. Thanks for your speedy help!DD
