Hi jaap, it works fine, but pop the 2d panel in and tframes go to eathier 9 or with a few plaens its at 15. Never had this problem. It just started yesterday. Im using the omega drivers just like i always have. Dont have problems with weather. Frames lock at 25, or i can lock at 30. But on 2D, im at 9. And it happens on default planes also. I have all AA, AF, etc etc turned off. Should i try to re-install my vid drivers and search for mobo drivers? When we gonna fly buddy? :-P

"When in 2d panel, my frames sink to around 8 or 9. when in any other view, my frames will lock at 30. Any advice on how to fix this?"Chase, the 9600 series (and early 9800's) are known to be finicky about Fast Writes. If you have them disabled (in both the driver config and motherboard BIOS) then try enabling them (driver and M/:(. If they are enabled then try disabling them. Also, if you haven't tried the Omega drivers with your 9600 they might offer a solution. Install them with Fast Writes enabled. Read Omega's Readme (it's the FAQ page at his site) before installing them. Finally, as Jaap suggested reinstall your M/B chipset drivers and DirectX, and make certain that the 3 "DirectX Features" on the "Display" page of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool are enabled.Good luck,GregEdit: We cross posted, Chase. Hope you find some of my suggestions useful (definately update your M/B chipset drivers and make sure you're running latest BIOS for it). This is most often an issue between the 9600 and the M/B or DirectX.

Which XP-SP are you using? What do the IDE controllers report in the system management? Any exclamation marks there? Something must have changed if it started to happen out of the blue... Did you install anything new? Good luck and kind regards Jaap Reg. online flying, I'm on dial-up and need to set-up a seperate system for that as I'm running xp64 right now. I'll send you an email with heaps of questions. So watch out! Hehe. I'm getting really keen to do it. Specially after having felt left out in this year's RTW race. Thanks for the continued calls... You relly encouraged me.

Greg, i remember yesterdaay i came across the fast writes options. Being stupid as i am, and not know what they were, my nose led me to turn them on. And i suppose thats when it started. I turned them on yesterday and thats when the problem started. Ill try to find out how to turn that option back off... Do you know how to get in that menu? I cant recall how.:-wave

I foudn that, but now im faced with another problem. By default, i recall it was on AGP 4X and fast writes was turned off. After i played some, i messed things up, and now its stays with the agp mode to off and fast writes off. I changed it all my self back to AGP 4X and fastwrites off, click apply, and then im asked to restart. After restarting, i check the smartGart tab, and everything is back to where it was. AGP is off, and fast writes is back off also. So the restart didnt do me any good. any suggestions greg?:-wave

Just reinstall the Omega's over the top of your existing installation. That should get ya squared away. Install them with Fast Writes set as you had them before yesterday.Greg
