July 11, 200520 yr If you are willing to spend around $850. Check the Dell 24" Widescreen.I got one for $1100. But I heard they droped the price yet again..or you may find a dell coupon somehwere (google for "Dell Coupons").Its a spectacular monitor. If that price is too much..check their 20" Widescreen. July 11, 200520 yr Ahh, I see Manny, you got one too.For CAD work, a widescreen is the exact opposite of what he needs.Save on the cost of a widescreen and spend it on a good quality 20/21" 4:3 screen. Get a 1600x1200 native resolution for you CAD work if you must have a TFT otherwise, if you can take the size of a CRT, the non fixed resolution of a CRT may do you better and see you good for resolutions above 1600x1200...
July 11, 200520 yr Author i was thinkin of this one herehttp://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...=162061&_LOC=USit would still be more viewable screen than what i have now and its 8ms, its very fast Ciao!
July 12, 200520 yr Author oh yeah, cause i really dont do all my work in cadd, im a roof truss designer, we mainly use are own specialty truss designing software (which is cadd like) and then we use cadd to clean the drawing up, put our title page on it, etc add expoded diagrams, what have youi am very tempted to get that 24" wide, that would seem kinda cool, but it might be kinda wierd for my work though, im kinda leaning maybe towards a 20" lcdis 12ms fast enough for gamming? i not only flightsim alot but im into battlefied 2 as wellciao!Brian S Ciao!
July 12, 200520 yr I know nothing about CAD. but I am curious.why is a Widescreen not suitable for CAD? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 12, 200520 yr Author well, it would work, but things would be stretched out from left to right to far im afraid, i like the hieght thing as well for my work, houses are generally a box nowadays with rooms and stuff kinda jutting out of the box if you will, so its nice to have the height Ciao!
