Try rebuilding fs9.cfg?

Johan, Before you tear the yoke apart, I have used both non-usb, and now USB. What I would do is reinstall the drivers..if there are any for your yoke. You mentioned that your system shows it connected when it is not? This very well may be a broken wire somewhere on the yoke, most likely at the connector end. If you leave it connected all the time, the chances of that are remote. Does the yoke show movement in the windows calibration? Let me know. Best regards, Jeff

EDIT: What I meant to ask above...Johan, You mentioned that your system shows it connected wether it is or not? This very well may be a broken wire somewhere on the yoke, most likely at the connector, or a driver issue. If the system shows it connected when it is not, I would say it's a system issue for sure. Let me know. Best regards, Jeff

Hey Johan, Good morning. Can you go into FS9 joystick setup and check the obvious. Try reassigning some buttons there. Once you have done that, if it does not work, try letting FS9 rebuild the config file, as another user mentioned. I know this stinks, but it will be the only way to tell if that is involved. If that doesn't work, I would buy an inexpensive regular joystick, hook it up and see what your results are. If the new joystick works, you will know what you have to do. I have seen them for $20.00. It can always be returned if that does not work. I have to get ready to head out now, but I will check back this afternoon. Also, I understand your joystick is a gameport, not a usb? Usb tend to be more reliable. We will find a solution, don't worry. Best regards, Jeff

Johan, I just got in and have to head out again. I will post how to get to your FS9 cfg file tonight. Sorry, I'm running late. Hang in there. I will be home by 1:00am Eastern. I will post before I turn in for the night. Best regards, Jeff

Hey Johan. First, You need to make sure your hidden files and folders option is selected. This is because the fs9.cfg file is within a hidden folder by default.Open my computer. On the top tool bar go to tools, folder options, click the view tab, and make sure show hidden files and folders is ticked. Please keep in mind, I use Win2000pro, so your system may be a bit different as far a navigating goes.OK, what you do is, go to your c drive, documents and settings,Your user folder (it might have your name),application data, microsoft, then you will see a folder fs9. Open that, and in there is a fs9.cfg file. Just delete that. When you start fs9 next time, it will be like the first time you started it.(NOTE: If you don't find a folder within the microsoft folder that says fs9, it is the wrong user folder you went into.)OK, after you delete the fs9.cfg file, you have to set everything up again. You may want to make a note what your settings are before you do this whole thing. I hope this helps you. If your not sure about this, I wouldn't mess with it. There is a fs9 tips and tricks forum here that covers this and alot more. Read it before you go forward. Messing with unknown areas can make things worse, and I don't want that to happen. Best regards, Jeff
