Take a look ate the following link :http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...5&enterthread=yThe question is if all those tweaks ( I am doing it also ) have any positive effect.Disabling programs that run is ofcoarse very usefull ( Like FsAutostart ).Let the thread begin.Gerard Salden

All of those tweaks are not totally useless. But they are very close to it :-). One look at the results should convince annyone of that. Better to spend the time flying. Doug

I have learned the hard way that unless you REALLY know what you are doing, you are asking for trouble trying some of these tweaks. Especially ones dealing with the memory settings, over clocking and anything with the registry. Like alot of us, I have spent WAY to much time trying to squeeze out that extra frame and get rid of any jerkyness. I think I have tried every tweek and read most all tuning suggestions. To be honest, the only ones that IMO made any noticable differnce are killing uneeded background programs, lowering the latency using latency config and making experimenting with my video card settings.I am one of those lifelong flight simmers since micropose f19 that I ran on a mighty 286 running at a blazing 25 mhz. I was tweeking the computer and sim then, tweeking and tuning now and have a feeling in 10 years I will still be doing the same.

I rarely tweak video cards, as it never gets me significant results in FS, but often experiment with the registry and overclocking, which DOES get me noticeable results in FS. We do the opposite! And I wonder if you are changing the latency via your BIOS setup? Or is there a software program that does this as well?>I am one of those lifelong flight simmers since micropose f19>that I ran on a mighty 286 running at a blazing 25 mhz. But I never tweaked the Apple //e. I didn't know anything then, or I would have. :)
