Frustrations about setting up dualview monitors. Please help.

Featured Replies

Hello, I am setting up a second computer for work and I cant get dualview to work properly. I have it set up on my flightsim rig and I works fine. The rig in question is using a fx5200 with a new Viewsonic CRT and a old Dell CRT. I have used a variety of drivers including the 77.72's.When I go in to the settings, it looks as if everything is set up - dualview is selected, the Viewsonic is the primary and the Dell is the secondary. Both monitors are working but they are showing up in a manner similar to mirrored - the exact same image is on both monitors. When I try to detect monitors, I get a "1" on both screens. It appears that it thinks both monitors are #1 and #2 is somewhere else even though both monitors are named - 1 dell and 1 viewsonic. In addition, it is showing that the video memory is only 64MB rather than 128. The memory shouldn't be split in 1/2 - my flightsim rig doesn't do that.I hope this makes sense. Please help. I can't fathom having to do database work with only one monitor. Thanks!

Thanks. Actually there are 4 modes and it is set in the correct mode (dualview) but it is behaving like it is in mirrored (sort of).

Thank. Yes. The description I provided is a descriptioon of the settings in the manager. This is less a issue of "how to set up dual view" and more a issue of "what is wrong with my dual view." Thanks again for the replies.

I have an interesting problem with my dual monitor setup. I have (2) LCD monitors 19' @ 1280 x 1024 and a 17" @ 1280 x 1024. Once I have undocked the panels and moved them over to the 2nd monitor and select full screen on the primary the 2nd monitor defaults to 800x600 if I use FS9 is windows mode then both monitor remain the same 1280x1024. Any suggestions.ThanksAndrew
