April 21, 200620 yr Hi-I'm going to be putting together a new computer after FSX is released and doing some forum reading. However, I will still have my old rig - a PIII 1.2 ghz Dell (XPST500). I've purchased a power adapter to enable me to put more powerful stuff (eg a video card) into it.So, I'm wondering - what types of stuff (if anything) can I do with two?I think the main thing I'd like to do is to separate the out-the-window view from the panel; I guess Project Magenta can do this, though I can't quite tell if I need a dedicated (hardware) radio stack. Is there another way to split the panel from the outside view?Additionally, I really like what I've seen from TrackIR so splitting the panel from the outside view may not actually be a factor... but is there anything I can do to take advantage of the extra computer? Thanks,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
April 24, 200620 yr You could use it to run a moving-map display.Or a static map. A big jpg or bmp of a sectional chart takes up a lot of memory, but the old comp could do it, and that would free up your main computer for FS.Search for "WideFS" and read up on that for ideas.Hopefully others will chime in...Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

April 26, 200620 yr Yup.. You can get Project Majenta's IFR Panels if you are into GA. Try out their Demo version. or their CRJ type glass panel. This way.. you can have monitor dedicated for panel. you use your main computer/screen for VC primarily external view.Ortry this one http://maxivista.com/The monitor of your old PC pretty much can be extended to become your third monitor (assuming your primary Pc would have 2 screens).orcheck into Wideview.
