July 4, 200619 yr Double-clicking anywhere on the Task Manager border should put things back to normal.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. July 4, 200619 yr Author Thanks Doug, they should all be that easy ;-) Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
July 4, 200619 yr Indeed. How did you make out with the keyboard problem? I've never run across that one before.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. July 4, 200619 yr Author Hi Doug,Well the keyboard problem was my own stupidity. I was trying to enter the wrong verification number for Windows, and didn't realize that some of the keys are disabled by Microsoft until it is verified. July 4, 200619 yr Does anyone know what causes this (the Task Manager problem) to happen? It happened to me about two weeks ago and not knowing the "double-click trick" I did a WinXP Restore to fix my problem. But I'd like to know what caused it and how I can prevent it in the future. R-
July 5, 200619 yr I don't have a clue. It's happened to me twice in three years and I couldn't find a cause either time.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. July 5, 200619 yr This happened to me once in 3 or 4 years of using WinXP. I ran with a weird looking Task Manager for about 6 months before I figured out that you can double-click to alter it. It's nothing I would do a System Restore over though, my gosh :) but to each his own.Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
