Yes that is not too bad in my experience.I can go higher at times, 55 maybeThey do get hotit is not water cooled after all, 47 is not really that high considering what it would be without any heat sink at all....hotI have the same monitor but that should not be an issue with the CPU but with the GPU, which in my case can only be reflected temperature-wise in the temp for the case environment as i have no GPU monitoring, and this is getting meaningless. allen

My X800XT idles anywhere from 50-55C and has been running fine that way for nearly a year. I wouldn't worry.Gary

That's a Socket 754 cpu, and I think it's 130nm process with I believe a higher voltage, so it will run hotter than a cpu like mine. If you don't have already, you could add a case fan (1 blowing in, 1 blowing out) if you have not already. That will drop it some.FYI when I am not overclocking I get 31 degC at idle, 50 degC at 100% cpu usage after a long FS session. When overclocking I get 35 degC idle, 55 degC at 100% cpu usage.I have a Coolermaster Praetorian case with 4 80mm fans (2 in, 2 out).RhettAMD 3700+ powered by Gerbil wheel + gerbil, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 gigs Corsair TWINX, etc. etc.
