November 7, 200619 yr I saw this driver-said better graphics and performance than the standard nvidia -was a little skeptical but thought I'd try it.So far it is pretty amazing-picked up about 4 fps with full autogen-but what I saw that made the biggest difference is-with full autogen the underlying textures don't blurr now-the best of both worlds. November 7, 200619 yr hiwould you mind posting your driver settings when you get a chance? this set has killed performance big time for me. in one test scenario from 14-15 down to 10, a whole third down. i agree the textures load faster and stay sharp but the price is hard to swallowsince your results were so good, i'd like to try a bit harder :-)thanks

November 7, 200619 yr About 3 or 4 fps gain, which is, well, appreciated considering. I decided after much tweaking to uncheck app-controlled in driver (with AA at 2Q and AS at x16) while keeping AA and AS settings in FSX... Not sure what it does, since it sounds somewhat contradictory, but works for me... (3.2, 1.5, 256)

November 7, 200619 yr Author This is what the driver states-it says it is based on the 93.71 but-The NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver is a tweaked version of the NVIDIA ForceWare driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance and image quality. November 7, 200619 yr okee. so i collapsed exhausted last night, but i played with it again today. geofa, the results exceeded your gains by a wide marginin the process i discovered that these drivers, at least on my box, are extremely sensitive to their various settings. in one heavily urban test scenario i was getting 10 frames average last night with aa set to 4x multisampling. today i set aa and af to app-control on the card and set them on in fs. got 20-locked-20 in the exact same scenario (i was afraid to unlock in case it would only say 20.1 ;-)) and the jaggies got visibly smootheri was comparing against similarly set stock 91.48 at approximately 14 frames (so you can understand my initial disappointment)bottom line: if these drivers perform like a dog for you, play with them a few more minutes. there is payoff down the linesomebody just made vilk his friend today :-lol

November 7, 200619 yr Nice find Geofa! Just departed Quincemil, Peru (finished the Amazon mission) and now working my way to Tokyo. Departing, I averaged 28 FPS and hit my lock number of 32 once I took off. Have all default textures installed and modified default.xml only as tweaks. Thought it was good before, this is amazing!I decided I would leave the card as Application Controlled and set AA and Ani in FSX. I really see no difference and have no desire to change anything now. I have autogen maxed along with everything else excluding water. Thanks! First beer is to you!
