November 24, 200619 yr I need something to keep my CH Pedals from sliding around on my carpet when I use them. Any suggestions? Spikes? Velcro?

November 24, 200619 yr >http://www.supergluecorp.com :+ Are you suggesting I glue them to the rug? Or find some spikes to glue to the bottom of the pedals? I'd like to be able to put them in the closet when not in use (theoretically at least. They haven't left the floor since I bought them 3 months ago).
November 25, 200619 yr I would think that the Velcro idea has merit but my solution was easier. Just when I got the pedals, my wife emptied a BIG box of Minute Rice, the 72 oz. size. I laid it flat on the floor, between the back of the pedal housing and the wall. It is wide enough to keep the pedals from moving about even when using them for racing games. My intent was a temporary fix until I could devise something better but the same box has been down there for over four years so I guess that it's here to stay.R-
November 25, 200619 yr I think some bricks will hold them in place!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
November 25, 200619 yr I put together a simple wooden step (like an office type footrest) which not only holds the pedals in place but also angles them a bit, as it feels nearer to the position in the Cessna 152 when angled up, it also means that using the toe brakes doesn`t hurt my ankles as much!Basically it is a square of MDF the size of the pedal base box with two legs of 4cmx2cm wood which hold the back up. The whole lot backs against the wall in my "flightdeck" which prevents the whole contrivance from shifting!Velcro is a really good idea I think, you can probably buy stick-on stuff which would attach to the carpet. If you wanted spikes you can get the from Hi-Fi/ audio shops where they are used for speaker and turntable (you kids won`t know what one of those is LOL!) isolation. You would probably have to drill some holes to accomodate a self tapping spike..{Edited to ask:} does anyone know of a mod to give the toebrakes some kind of reaction force. I vaguely recall someone jamming some foam rubber behind the pedals so they didn`t feel like the brakes have lost all hydraulic fluid!? Thx CheersJames
November 25, 200619 yr I use a piece of kitchen shelf liner, it's like a rubberized mesh. You can buy a whole roll of it at any hardware or home improvement store. Works great!Mark KuebelerWestWind Airlineswww.flywestwind.com
November 25, 200619 yr I use three lines of string, glued across the bottom at equidistant spacing. The string drives into the carpet pile, locking the pedals in place. The pedals never move. Kind of like velocro, but cheaper.I am a cheapskate. :)Allcott
November 25, 200619 yr All you need is a rubber mat as used in a car. Place your pedals on top of the mat and it'll never move.Keeps 'her indoors' happy too as it's easy to remove for hoovering the carpet underneath. ;-) Dave Taylor
