February 4, 200719 yr My guess is probably not, WHQL drivers that were released middle of January still do not fix this. How disappointing...The drivers themselves run great, but what a stupid little thing they couldn't fix in how long?
February 6, 200719 yr I'm using the 93.71's with a 7900 GS and do not have that problem. Wonder if it's related to some FS setting. . .Jim Harnes
February 6, 200719 yr I am using 93.71 driver, and do not have this problem. You don't say what card, memory you have.I suggest you play with your antialiasing settings (as in lower them) as these are known to affect the "black aircraft preview screen" issue.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
February 7, 200719 yr 8800 GTX, AA settings at 4 and 8. I'd rather not lower them because it takes away from the graphics quality
February 7, 200719 yr Unrelated to MSFS, but some folks are really very unhappy with nVidia and support for the 8800 series in Vista.http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070206-8784.htmlMSFS devotees can only hope that someday nVidia will look at the problem mentioned in the original post.
February 7, 200719 yr Ah, you have an 8800 card. Well as was said, the drivers for the 8800's are a known issue. However, I do expect the 8800 driver situation to improve as time goes on.If it were me, I would try different drivers until I found one that worked. I am not sure how many different variants of 8800 drivers are presently available, though. I bet Guru of 3D has some, and you might try them. You are in essence being bitten by the "newness" bug, and yes, an 8800 is still new even though its been out a little while now.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
February 8, 200719 yr I have an 8800 GTX as well and do not have that problem. I'm using 97.92 driversHarald
February 8, 200719 yr Also varies from full screen to windowed mode and screen resolution...I have dual 8800 GTX and at 1280*1024 it works fine at 1920*1200 I get black screen. I start in windowed mode and then after I select my plane and load my flight I switch to full screen...-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
